Description

Get a mesmerizing insight into the interior lives of the smartest pet with The Genius of Dogs: How Dogs Are Smarter Than You Think. Proving what most dog lovers have already known to be true, this book delves into the cognitive science of dogs to unveil their true genius. In fact, in the past decade, researchers have learned more about how dogs think than in the last century. Breakthroughs in cognitive science, pioneered by co-author Brain Hare, have proven that dogs have a kind of genius for getting along with people—and it’s totally unique in the animal kingdom.

This dog genius revolution is transforming how people live and work with canine friends, including how they are trained. Does your dog feel guilt? Is she pretending that she can’t hear you? Does she want affection, or is it just your sandwich that she’s after? In this book, Hare and Vanessa Woods share what research around the world is revealing about how your dog thinks—and even better, how that can help humans to have an even deeper relationship with their four-legged best friends.
