I got this cause it’s starting to drop in temp. I was worried about the sizing for my dog cause his measurements are 21 in neck, 31 in chest and 22 in in length but it fit him very very well and he looks so snazzy I’m it!!!
Looks like it will be perfect for this ugly weather we're under.
This is the 2nd coat I've purchased from Chewy/GF Pet...the quality is excellent, the fit is perfect (thanks to grippy velcro closures) and the thoughtful details make them a cut above...I went with the closest measurement for his back/chest (size M for a 15 lb. Border Terrier mix.) This coat is very easy to put on/take off and the hood tacks back securely with velcro and stays completely out of his eyes/face (my dog doesn't enjoy wearing a hood.) It's lined with a soft, cozy fleece material for extra warmth (well-timed for January as temps in NYC really dipped!) He hasn't worn the easily detachable pants yet (@hugotmyheart prefers no pants!) but given the snowfall we're about to get, he might change his mind, and I'm glad to have the option of adding them if needed. He's gotten loads of compliments in his handsome new coat–highly recommend!
This coat is so easy to put on my pup and it is beautiful! My pup got so much attention and compliments with this coat on, which she loved because it means she got pets. There is a strong velcro strap that goes across the front of the chest as well as below the chest. Leg covers are optional but I like to use it because it keeps my pup warm during our winter outings and hikes. The hood is so cute and it actually somewhat stays on her head - enough to keep the back of her neck warm and cozy. I sized up so that there is still plenty of room to wear a layer underneath if needed.
Love the Velcro, it’s easy to put on and stays in place. The hood is big and covers her ears (much to her chagrin) or Velcro’s back and stays in place. Definitely keeps her warm. Haven’t tried the pants yet, but love that they’re an option.
I am 69 years old and have owned many a dog in my day. I have to say this is the BEST coat I have found in all my years. Absolute excellent quality and fit. It is thick enough to keep my Yorkie mix and Havanese warm in these Michigan winters. They now love their walks and time in the snow. I would highly recommend this coat for any dog who lives in a cold weather climate. If I had any complaints, it would be the rise in cost. I purchased my Yorkie mix a small in February of 2021 at $25.00. The same coat is now going to cost me $51.99. I understand items have gone up in cost, however, I do feel this is a bit ridiculous.
Hey hey... I have 2 CKCS dogs, and I've been looking to get them something for the winters (for when it's not so bad out), and it fits and looks amazing. I've mentioned i have 2CKCS dogs, one is stocky and small, the other is taller and skinnier; I ordered 2 snowsuits for medium sized dogs, but Large in the size. The size I picked was Large. They both fit wonderfully, they look adorable... And a nice feature is that it can be used as a coat, bc the legs Velcro onto the coat. I would totally recommend this to anyone with a dog. I hope this helps.
I couldn’t find winter coat to fit 3 different sized dogs that provided any protection from this winter UNTIL THIS ONE!! Others were too small and poorly fitting. BUT THIS ONE WAS WELL PROPORTIONED TO VAROUS SIZE, SHAPE, and covered extremely well, with or without the leggings provided. Best part is VELCRO MAKES EASY ON/OFF FOR ALL THREE DOGS DOGS!! A BARGAIN AT THIS GREAT PRICE!!
We have a Whippet mix with a very slim build, long legs, and no undercoat. AND we live in Buffalo, NY. We really needed a coat that would keep her toasty and wouldn't swim on her. This was it! I worried she would chew the fur, but she doesn't and it looks so cute on her! The legs and thick padding keep her much warmer than standard coats and it's very easy to put on her!
Having a greyhound with a thin layer of fur is bad enough in the winter, but then he is virtually bald on his inner thighs and under his legs, he can get cold easily. This coat is nice because it protects no only under his chest, but also some of his inner thighs. I tried the CanadaDog snowsuit but it was too tight on the thighs. The separate pants that get velcroed in to the jacket allow the snowsuit to fit different shaped dogs. Unfortunately, the pants do make his butt look a little big, and the velcro on the coat where it attaches to the pants pulls the lining of the coat down and makes it puff up at the back, but this is a minor complaint. It was keeping him so warm, I was sticking my hands under his coat to warm them up!
