    Picky eater approved!

By CHSottb on Jun 12, 2021

My mare is very picky about treats, but loves anything with anise! I especially like these for our “clicker” training. They are small enough to fit a handful in my pocket, but just large enough to be a nice reward. I wouldn’t recommend them for a horse on a very strict low starch diet (such as PSSM or metabolic issues). I keep my OTTB on a relatively low starch diet because she can be a little hot and is prone to ulcers, but these treats don’t seem to be causing her any issues. It is a good size bag for the price. More treats and less then half the price of the Renew Gold treats. Also, Chewy’s customer service can not be matched. questionable ?

By DeeLabArabmom on Dec 5, 2020

I bought these for my 30yr old Arabian since they’re small and easy for him to chew. He loves anise flavor so I thought he’d really love these. I was wrong. This is a horse that absolutely loves all types of human cookies, fig newtons, shredded wheat cereal, menthol eucalyptus throat lozenges, etc. But he either will sniff the “Stars” treats, then refuse them, or just cautiously bite a tiny piece off them, then let the treat fall to the floor. I curiously offered one to each of the 20 horses in the barn, and found that only about 50% would eat them. I bought 3 bags and will just keep them to give to the horses that like them at the stable.

    Horse Treats

By Nata on Nov 12, 2020

These treats are made with great ingredients and they smell so good My horse absolutely loves these! He loves ALL the Ginger Ridge treats. I cannot give 5 stars because they are very very expensive. The price went up by $2.00 from 2018, quite a hike in price.
