The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight.

We suggest feeding twice a day, puppies more often. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change. On day one, introduce 10% new food / 90% old food. Keep the food at this ratio for 2 or more days. Next, increase the ratio to 20% new food / 80% old food for 2 or more days. Repeat increasing in increments of 10% until you’re feeding 100% of the new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process to let his/her digestive tract adjust to the new food. Some vomiting and/or diarrhea can be normal when introducing new foods as the digestive process and the naturally occurring bacteria your pet’s body requires is a complex and delicate system. If you experience any vomiting and/or diarrhea, be sure to reduce the amount of new food the next time you feed and overall, slow the whole transition period down even more.

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

  • Puppy doesnt eat it

    By on

My four month old doesnt eat the food when I mix this with his old food. We had a hard time transitioning, for about two weeks. I still try to mix this in since I like go fit, and it looks healthier than his old Royal Canin food. But, he wouldnt touch it if i mix Go-fit in his food bowl until I replace it with two cups of his old favorite, Royal Canin. I still think Go-fit is a great choice but unfortunately my puppy, golden retriever doesnt like it. Now I got a 25 lbs, does anybody need it? :(

  • Go - away! Too expensive and puppy won't eat it.

    By on

Should have started with a small bag I guess. I am not sure why this food is twice as much as others. Bought cause wife told me to. At first I saw a discount and price was 39 but when actually purchased, was $76. Not very happy with this one.

  • Great puppy food

    By on

This really has some great ingredients. The puppy food has a good quantity of meats, the adult Go is not as impressive. Would buy the puppy food again!

  • I'm impressed!!

    By on

I switched to this brand after giving my husky puppy Merrick Backcountry and it has helped my pup look healthier and happier! This product made his stool more solid and his eye boogies have gone away! Not only that, but his coat is shinier and softer than it has ever been before! I love all the good ingredients and vitamins packed into this kibble. It has lots of probiotics and prebiotics to help with digestion and has since made a big difference! I am so impressed and happy with the choice I made to switch to this puppy food. It's a little spendy, but so worth it! Definitely would recommend! I will continue buying Go! Fit & Free in the future!

  • Safe for my puppies and they like it

    By on

My puppies had diarrhea eating another food which had been rated as good. This food is good for them. They no longer have diarrhea and are doing well.

  • Healthy content

I give this to my 5 month old toy Aussie. She eats very little but she does seem to like this product. I've only been feeding this product for 1 week so I'm conservative in my feedback at this time.

  • Best of the best

    By on

This is the best of the best as far as puppy food. I switch out every month with different food because of cost but this is by far my favorite. My pups never get gas on it like some other expensive foods. Highly recommended!
