I don’t generally write reviews unless I feel strongly about them. This cat perch sheds worse than anything I’ve ever seen. There are clumps and pieces of the carpet/fur all over the room. The kittens even started eating it! Vacuumed it good and scrubbed it off and the carpet continued to shed off. Very frustrating. Nice otherwise.
Received this last week and was simple to assemble (just look closely at the pictures-- 1st step is connecting scratch poles with upper bed/platform then screws fit into base to hold scratch posts. Both cats have enjoyed the upper "perch" but as stated in previous reviews, the lower small sized bed seems undesirable. Maybe it will be used for access to the top only... And since we have many scratch pads, the cats haven't tried to scratch the poles so I can't comment on durability. Seems like a great investment thus far as it was inexpensive and is being used.
Just we needed. Our cat can lay on it right net to my chair so she can get me to pet her. rather than lay in my chair and (me) having to chase her off when I want to sit
I needed a very small tree to give the cats somewhere to perch and watch birds at the feeders on the deck, and decided to try this one. I already have a giant cat tree, climbing wall, and huge handmade scratching post in the room already, but they miss having my dog's big bed there to lay on and the special-needs guy gets cold laying on the floor. I'm pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it is and love that it has a nice big perch on top, but really wish it had a couple minor changes. If they're going to be cheap enough to only put sisal on one post, they could at least run it all the way up to the top of the post so the cat can stretch up a little to scratch. The little bed in front is too far under the big upper one for them to be comfortable sitting on it. And the big top perch could be a lot more sturdy/stable if they had just put the front two posts further from the back one. They're all but in a straight line, which doesn't give a lot of stability when my cats jump off of it. But it works for my need. I found that one of my cats' favorite little rectangle beds fits perfectly on the top perch and now the female sleeps curled up there almost every day. Sometimes her brother joins her, too. If you don't have room for anything bigger or want something for by a window, this is a great choice. If you want something to let your cat play with, run around on, and get energy out, get something bigger.
I purchased this for my elderly fat tabby cat (15 lbs) that can no longer jump up 2 levels on her 4 level cat tree. This is my fourth cat tree as she gets older (12 years old). I LOVE it. It is so perfect in size and height, I am truly grateful for the people that designed this. As Soon as I put it together (less than 5 minutes) my kitty was on the top nosing around!!! She jumped down easily also. Did I say I LOVE it already?? Thank you so much! Missy says thank you too :-)
This cat tree was easy to put together. My oldest cat loved the cat scratch pole & my youngest cat loved the upper seat.
I bought this for my large senior cat, but quickly found that the bottom part is placed too far under the top that he isn't able to climb up. It's a great height and he fits on the top well but because of where the bottom is, it is effectively unusable and just... decoration now. This would likely work better for smaller cats for this reason.
Got a really nice bed for our 12lb cat. However, she couldn't "see"the bottom so refused to jump into it. (is using it alongside a tree how she can step into it)So we sent for this one. Immediately she jumped right up into it! Loves it. Can really stretch out in it. It is super sturdy. Right size for looking out the window. Can't praise it enough. Did not find it shedding like some said. So glad we got it.
I bought this because it was recommended on Wirecutter. It’s a nice, sturdy tree with good weight to it. Cat pretty much only uses the top platform. If your cat is a big climber this is probably too small and short for them, but it’s a great little tree for a chill cat who wants a bit of a perch.
We bought this for our 2 cats, one is a black cat the other a short Himalayan. They like laying on it to look out the window. Almost perfect height for it. But the instructions said put the sisal scratching post in the middle but we moved it to outer side as they can't reach it up against the window. Biggest thing I see is after a week is I have carpet fibers all over the place from the carpet posts they use as a scratching pad. I don't see this lasting too long because it will be bare soon. Thank god I got it on sale as it would be going back if not.
