Feeding Instructions

Adult: Feed 3/4 - 1 1/4 cans per 15 lbs of body weight per day. Puppy: Feed up to 2x the Adult amount for puppies. Gestation & Lactation: Feed up to 3x the normal Adult amount.

Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Always provide clean fresh water. The amount of food your dog requires will depend on activity, age, breed of dog, and climate. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change. On day one, introduce 10% new food / 90% old food. Keep the food at this ratio for 2 or more days. Next, increase the ratio to 20% new food / 80% old food for 2 or more days. Repeat increasing in increments of 10% until you’re feeding 100% of the new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process to let his/her digestive tract adjust to the new food. Some vomiting and/or diarrhea can be normal when introducing new foods as the digestive process and the naturally occurring bacteria your pet’s body requires is a complex and delicate system. If you experience any vomiting and/or diarrhea, be sure to reduce the amount of new food the next time you feed and overall, slow the whole transition period down even more.

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

  • "WOW" Happy Lab Here !!

    By on

I have a 3 1/2 yr Chocolate Lab, I have been searching for just the right topping for his dry food. The ingredients are outstanding, I only give him 2 heaping teaspoons with each meal (twice a day) to help with his coat. Junior can't finish it fast enough, NO stool issues at all which is very rare. The gal at Chewy that reccomend this was spot on, and went through the ingredients and benefits for "Junior" HAPPY LAB, HAPPY LIFE !!

  • Matter of taste

    By on

I read plenty of reviews that prased this product, and some stating that their dog(s) wouldn't touch this food. Unfortunately, my dog falls in the latter category. I doubt that it's the product, as my dog is Extremely picky. I wanted to try this for the healthy skin promition of the ingredients. This, along with a majority of treats that I purchased will have to be donated the shelter that I adopted my dog from.

I am giving this four stars as I'm only on the second can with my pup. He seems to really like it and hasn't experienced any negative side effects.

We purchased this food for our senior, she in undergoing radiation treatment for cancer and was turning her nose to just dry food. I add a little of this to her dry kibble(Go! Sensitivity + Shine Grain Free Venison) and she eats all her food.

  • My dog likes the flavor

    By on

My 3lb. Yorkie has NO teeth and is extremely sensitive in his stomach. This dog food was recommended to me by a sales staff so we tried it. He loves the flavor BUT there are small square chunks of white potatoes which I must mash up before I can give it to him and also there are HARD grit pieces mixed in the food which I believe to be ground up bones or feathers even though it claims to be no by products. Because he has open holes in the roof of his mouth where his canine teeth used to be it worries me that these grit pieces may get lodged in his holes which will cause him an infection. I would recommend this food for anyone who has a dog with sensitivities because it has not bothered his stomach My 3lb. Yorkie has NO teeth and is extremely sensitive in his stomach. • Great

I have Tibetan Mastiffs and one has skin and coat issues. I changed to this food along with coordinated kibble and my dogs skin and coat is better. I tackled the issue with the food and grooming every other day on average. They are also very touchy about the foods they will eat and will often coordinate food strikes when they get bored of the same meals. In several months my mastiff has done neither and still eats the food as vigorously as the first day he was given it!
