Feeding Instructions

The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Feed Adult dogs twice a day and puppies more often. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change.

  • Day 1 & 2: Feed 80% of your pet’s old food with 20% of the new food
  • Day 3 & 4: Feed 60% of your pet’s old food with 40% of the new food
  • Day 5 & 6: Feed 40% of your pet’s old food with 60% of the new food
  • Day 7, 8 & 9: Feed 20% of your pet’s old food with 80% of the new food
  • Day 10 & Forever: Feed 100% new food

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the ingredients used in this product “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

Where is this product made?

Go! dry pet foods are produced in Ontario, Canada. We are 100% China free for processing and ingredient sourcing. None of our meat proteins, grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables in any of our recipes are processed in China, and none of our ingredients are sourced in China.

Is your food baked or extruded?

Our goal is to maintain the nutritional integrity of the ingredients we use in our recipes and so we extrude our foods at temperatures which are lower than typical baking. The end result; a nutrient-rich, highly digestible product for pets.

Sometimes the color and shape of the kibbles can vary. Why?

At Petcurean, we formulate our recipes using real food ingredients, and like real food that Mother Nature provides, the color and texture of the ingredients going into our recipes varies. For example; Meat supply will vary between different suppliers and batches (e.g. dark meat vs. white meat). Also, diets with a higher meat content are denser and sometimes more difficult to extrude (versus cereal or grains) which leads to variance in the kibble shape. Oils, as they are applied, either outside of or inside the kibble, can affect the color and the density (size) of the kibble. Oils also play a significant role in the palatability of the food. Finally, Petcurean does not use any artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, which also contributes to variances of the color and texture.

What is the shelf life of Go! dry cat food?

Our dry foods have a shelf life of 16 months.

  • Great for the picky eaters

    By on

I have two miniature schnauzers who have sensitive stomach issues. Schnauzers need lower fat foods. This is the only one the seems to work. The white on the older one's mouth is actually white! They both love this food. My only complaint is that is is pricey!

  • Good for my girls with sensitive skin

    By on

My girls love the taste of this kibble and it is good for them and for their skin. I have also used the salmon variety too, and it is equally good for them.

  • My dog loves it

    By on

My dog loves this food. She now sits by her bowl waiting when it is time to eat. She hasn't been on it long enough to make sure that long term it will be ok for her, but she is excited about eating which is fun to watch. She was on Acana before but after years we wanted to try something new. I switched her without any transition and she had no problems at all.

  • Effective!

    By on

My poor old sick Rottie was having some serious issues this summer. We heard the constant pounding of his hind legs as they struggled to scratch all of the places they could reach, along with the constant noshing as he chewed with this mouth. His fur had become dull. Within two days of beginning this food, everything stopped! We waited to see if it was our imagination. It was not! Just as serious, he suffers from bloat, which can kill him, heart problems and high blood pressure. He has been stable since starting Go!, and his fur is beautiful!

  • Great food!

    By on

I used Acana duck and pear for my 2 pitties for many years, and when they switched manufacturers my dogs both suffered. My girl had a serious skin flare up and my boy had major diarrhea. They both have skin issues and major food allergies as well as sensitive digestive systems. This food has been incredible for both of them!

  • Not all all helpful

    By on

I thought this would help my Mattix; nope! He still vigorously itches and chews himself. I am going back to the previous brand I was giving him; he didn't itch as much let along chew himself.

  • Good alternative for allergies

    By on

My 7 year old Dob has had severe allergies since he was a pup. I have had to try various foods that relate to his allergy testing. So far, he is starting to shape up, and his allergies are less. His coat is starting to look good again and his digestive system returning to normal.

  • Go dogfood is a great product

    By on

This is such a great product, my yorkie has a very sensitive tummy and this food works great for her, she likes it and its smaller kibbles easy for her to eat. I love that the bag has a ziplock seal so I can close it tight to keep it fresh. First time ordering from chewy... Love them.. and I can't believe how fast my box arrived.
