Questions & Answers

12 Customer Questions

What is the source of the ingredients in this formula?
Answer by ChewyNov 24, 2020
When it comes to ingredient sourcing, you can rest assured that the animal source proteins, grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables in the GO! SOLUTIONS, NOW FRESH, and GATHER recipes are sourced from North America (as close to the production facility as possible). The manufacturer's primary suppliers are based in Canada, however, due to some limits on availability, they have some USA based ingredient suppliers. Also, the venison and pasture raised lamb is sourced from New Zealand and Australia.

How frequent is batch testing done?
Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2019
All Go! formula ingredients are tested prior to receiving them at the plant; quality assurance tests include, but are not limited to, vomitoxin, aflatoxin, zearalenone, nutritional integrity and moisture levels. Testing continues on every batch at each part of the manufacturing process using standards set by Health Canada. These tests include but are not limited to, enterobacteriaceae such as salmonella and e-coli.

How much protein per cup for this kibble?
Answer by ChewySep 21, 2022
This recipe has a minimum protein content of 22.0%. This value applies to the whole product so it will be same amount whether referencing to a cup or a full bag.

I love Go!

Go! Lamb is my go to for my Rottweilers. I first tried it because my girl was a puppy and I couldn’t find anything good for her stomach. This was the ONLY thing that worked. I now have my male on the turkey formula and he’s doing great! I don’t have to feed what is on the bag, they get about a cup a day less. So just keep an eye on feeding instructions.

meh, it was okay

My dogs were indifferent about the “go! Lamb meal” kibble. They normally eat lamb based kibble but they weren’t fans of this one.

go! is great!

We changed to this food for Elsie and now her coat is shiny and smooth, she also doesn't have the odor that she had before finding go! Thank you, Chewy!!

Still mixing old food

I had switched my dogs to Acana, a month or so in their allergies flared . My one dog who did good with a variety of fish foods can no longer tolerate fish of any kind. So I'm searching for fish, beef and chicken free foods. My one dog is tolerating this so far, and the other isn't due to the fish oil. I tried Instinct and 2 of the 3 threw it up after 15 minutes of eating it. The other refused to touch it. I;m not crazy about the fact that the 2nd and 3rd ingredients are grains not meat. I am supplementing this food with Stella and Chewy freeze dried rabbit. Hopefully I can get them back on track, and their ears and skin cleared.

Less gassy than salmon

Myself and my fiancé are very versed on pet food ingredients and have always been picky about what we feed our babies so I was surprised to find this brand that I had never heard of and the ingredient list was really impressive! First we tried salmon but then switched to lamb in hopes that it would cut down on my dogs gas (she’s got a sensitive.. everything) and it did seem to reduce the stank! So far she’s doing well on it, she’s on her third bag from this brand, she loves the taste and it hasn’t seemed to mess with her sensitive skin, so we’re sold!

Petcurean is the Best!

I have researched many foods and ingredients. This food is one of the best foods on the market. It follows Canadian guidelines which are much stricter than USA. It is wonderful for dogs with sensitive stomachs, allergies and skin issues. It also has probiotics for gut health. I highly recommend this food. You can also go to Petcurean website and print out the PDF to compare ingredients. If you research other brands you will see they generally use other byproducts and not single protein in their food. My baby loves his food ! I rotate between lamb, duck and salmon with grains.

Great food

I have been using Go dry dog food for several years for my Labradoodle. I have never had a problem with upset stomachs or her being fussy and not wanting to eat. I alternate between the salmon and lamb and would definitely recommend this food.

Change in formula or maybe a bad batch?

I had fed this food to both my Goldens for over 4 months now. I usually buy it at my local pet store but they were out of the flavor I needed in the size I usually buy. I was happy to see Chewy carried it. I usually never have an issue with Chewy products. I should have known something was off because my dogs almost immediately would barely touch the food. I wondered why. I didn't see anything wrong at first. So I went to put the food into two small food containers and that is when I see some white powder on some of the Dog food. I don't know what it is but it was never on any of the food I bought previously from the local pet store. It might be a bad batch, contamination, or not stored properly. I will tell you both dogs every time they ate the food they would immediately vomit and have diarrhea. That has never happened with this food prior. So fully check your bag of dog food before giving it to your dogs.

Marley loves "Go!" Solutions Dog Food

Been using Go solutions dog food for years. I love that there are all good ingredients in this food and my dog loves the food as well. It is good for her skin and coat as well. Was purchasing this food through a local small company that went out of business because of the economy. We love Chewy but sad that the big box companies take the business away from the small mom & pop stores : ( Mixed feelings.

Our pup loves this!

Our goldendoodle has been as fussy eater from the beginning. We finally landed on something he loves! He also loves the salmon option...both big winners.
