The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight. We suggest feeding twice a day, puppies more often. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible. Pregnant/lactating females: increase intake by 50%.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change.

  • Day 1 & 2: Feed 80% of your pet’s old food with 20% of the new food
  • Day 3 & 4: Feed 60% of your pet’s old food with 40% of the new food
  • Day 5 & 6: Feed 40% of your pet’s old food with 60% of the new food
  • Day 7, 8 & 9: Feed 20% of your pet’s old food with 80% of the new food
  • Day 10 & Forever: Feed 100% new food

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

Where are your products made?

Petcurean dry pet foods are produced in Ontario, Canada. Our canned products are primarily produced in Ontario, Canada and secondarily at a plant in New Jersey, USA. Our SPIKE Jerky Treats are manufactured in Gainsville, Georgia and our SPIKE Treat Bars are made in Brampton, Ontario. All of the meat proteins, grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables in our GO! SOLUTIONS™, NOW FRESH™ and GATHER™ products are sourced from North America (as close to the production facility as possible).

    No more skin lesions.

    By on

Jack had been having problems with fungal breakouts on his skin for about 2 years. The vet gave him some anti-fungal medication that would clear it up for a month or so and then it was back. He suggested a new food specifically for skin and coat. I found this one on Chewy and it has worked like magic for the last month. Jack loves it and didn't even to notice a new food.

    GREAT FOOD

    By on

I have been struggling to find a food the would help with my Am Staff's digestion as well as itchy skin. He has had loose stools since I got him and this is the only food that makes his stools firmer and not runny. I also like the fact that I don't have to feed as much as some of the other foods I tried, which makes this food more economical.

    No peas, beans, or chicken!

    By on

This food has been a game changer for our 7 mo old Boxer puppy with multiple food sensitivities! He came to us with very loose almost explosive stools at times and it seemed like there was no end in site. He had seen his vet and it was suggested he not have a diet filled with all these lentils and legumes, He was being fed the food he had come with at the correct feeding amount, but it obviously was too rich of a food for him and the protein % was thought to be too high for him. Although it was a very good food brand, it had beef meal, chicken meal, pork meal, Menhaden Fish Meal and Alfalfa Meal proteins. After researching and researching dog food ingredients and eliminating one protein and ingredient This food has been a game changer for our 7 mo old Boxer puppy with multiple food sensitivities! After researching and researching dog food ingredients and eliminating one protein and ingredient at a time, we finally found a brand that was not filled with peas, pea fiber, pea protein, lima beans, garbanzo beans, chickpeas or any type of chicken, chicken meal. We started with a very slow transition like we did with other many food trials and immediately we noticed his poop was beginning to firm up and his scratching was declining. His stools have been consistently firming up and he has gone from 8-10 huge loose sloppy poops a day to only 4 soft formed! Overall, he looks and feels better, plays nonstop and enjoys eating his food! … more

Amazing dog food with NO chicken by product

    By on

My German Shepard I’ve tried numerous foods and they all manage to have chicken by product in it causing him to be uncontrollably itchy. Since I’ve switched him over he LOVES this food! Unfortunately I do tend to go through the bag a little faster than I’d like but I’ve been trying to get him to gain weight but he’s extremely active.

    Great alternative for my dog!

    By on

I’ve a mutt with pretty sensitive skin and when we had to look for an alternative option after moving here (the previous brand we were using isn’t available in the US), it took me a while to find a kibble with a chicken-free recipe. We’ve been on this for 3 weeks now and she’s doing great on it. No flare ups, skin is great - though I’m not sure if that’s partly to do with the cooler weather. Whatever it is, I’m really happy with our purchase!

    So far, so good

    By on

My older girl has an allergy to pork, white potato, barley and corn. All the dry foods I looked at all had these foods in them.. then came Petcurian GO.OMG. I am now in the last phase of transitioning BOTH my kids over to this recipe from two difference canned foods. Bought the turkey topper too... Less itching too...

    Excellent ingredients

    By on

The ingredients all seem to be very healthy and fresh. My dog likes it and so far is doing well on it. I am posting a photo tho as I'm wondering what all the white specks actually are.. hoping they're rice or oatmeal and not something that shouldn't be in there.. I looked on their product info, but didn't see any pictures of how it's suppose to look.. so just curious.. only want what's best for my girl!
