Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
Machine wash toy when soiled. Air dry.
I have bought two of these so far, one to replace the other. My Daisy Mae absolutely LOVES her “Pinky!” It is without a doubt her favorite toy. These toys are meant to be *more* durable than most other plush toys, but that does not mean they’re meant to be indestructible. They will tear eventually. I’ve ended up buying the other types of goDog brand dragons/other toys, bc my girls definitely favor them over all the others! I highly recommend, and I always buy one for friends’ dogs!
This is the second toy we have purchased from chewy that claims to be durable and chewable and won’t tear, even from the toughest chewers. Well, I believe that is wrong! Maybe my dog should be your tester because she can chew through anything
My Rott LOVES toys. She’s not super rough on them but she gives them a LOT of love. I usually buy Kong but decided to try this. It’s now one of her favorites and isn’t tearing up yet even with daily play and light chewing.
Thought I'd try another tough toy, opened the box and handed my 12 lbs terrier mix her new toy while I was working from home, she sat next to me squeaking the squeaker and next thing I looked down and she had a hole chewed in the head, the ear off and the stuffing coming out. Didn't even make it a full hour :(
There is no stuffing in the torso of this toy, just the squeaker. The head and all 4 legs are stuffed, but none in the body or tail. Called CS after I received the 1st order, explained my issue and another was quickly sent. Called again after the 2nd showed up with the same issue.
My 5 year old Lab loves all of the GoDog toys. She loves them so much that she rips them apart if given the chance. As soon as she goes into her chew mode, I remove the toy and give her a Kong. She proudly trots around with this dragon in her mouth. She even carries it outside to go potty. She loves to squeak it. My recommendation to anyone with an active chewer is to supervise when they have this because my girl could destroy it in an hour if given the chance.
Generally speaking, my dog hasn’t been allowed to have toys with any sort of fabric or rope; not only does he destroy them, but he also swallows a lot of it. I put a moratorium on any and all “soft” toys to prevent him from developing a bowel obstruction. That said, now that he’s a little bit older (about 2 yrs old) I wanted to try reintroducing them. For Christmas I gave him this dragon and he. fell. in. love. I don’t know what it is about this toy, but he hasn’t even ripped it yet in the 2 months he’s had it. Yes, it’s more durable than the average plush toy, but it is by no means indestructible. If he wanted to shred it he could, probably pretty quickly. Instead, it has become his go-to cuddle buddy! Occasionally he roughhouses with it, so it definitely can withstand rough play better than the average plush toy. As a pet parent, I really like that the entire toy isn’t filled with stuffing since that means less mess when it eventually falls apart.
One little tear in this item, after a week of play, is miraculous, considering my dog normally tears apart her squeaky toys in the first half hour. When I say, tears apart, I mean shredded and unstuffed!!! She absolutely loves this toy and so do I. No stuffing all over the floor and the squeaker is still intact and annoying everyone!
My Man Mack LOVES this dragon. He sucks and chews on everything that I get him. So far this has really held up. It's the first "baby" that he brings to me when he wants to play tug. Very happy with the feel. The raised scales are awesome
I don't know what you put in this toy 😉, but my dog LOVES this toy! She goes nuts for it: tossing it in the air to catch, rolling all over it, shaking it. Our family calls it "crack dragon" because she loves it so much and can't get enough! I will definitely be buying another when she wears out this one.
