    Enjoyed this food!

I ordered a small bag to try for one of my cats, I didn't really know what to expect since I had not purchased a food like this before. Not only did my cat love it...all my cats loved it. Not only did my cat love it...all my cats loved it. It reconstitutes rapidly in warm or room temperature water, forming a soft gruel appropriate for sensitive mouths or kittens. Its feeding guide indicates all life stages, and I appreciate the high 40% protein content. I think it is a good alternative to wet food as canned can be costly in a multi-cat household. The formula contains potato which I feel meh about, but it's far better than a bunch of grains. While some may like to feed all protein diets, I do not mind well rounded foods with a bit of healthy carbs, veggies, and fruit. I can see using it as a mixer in dry food or canned food to add extra nutrition and flavor as well. Bonus that it is near exclusively US ingredients. I think it is a good quality diet at an extremely fair price. … more

    2 picky cats

By RUDY on Sep 13, 2019

Had high hopes for this product but my cats wouldn't eat at all! Mixed 1 cup product with 1 cup of water, let sit overnight. Refrigerated 1/2, then tried 2 days later, same results. Back to canned food as they don't even like people food.

    Cat did not like it

My cat did not like this food. At first he would eat around all the veggies and spit out the carrots, then after a week or so he flat out refused to even go near it.

Used to love it, now won't touch it

I'm so disappointed in this product ("Artisan" Freeze-dried Chicken & Fish). It used to be the base of the mix I fed my kitty who has to eat raw. He loved the taste and all the cats loved the large pieces of dried fish that were always included in the top of the bag. I don't know whether "Grandma" changed the recipe or what. My cat won't touch it now and rejects the entirety of his food whenever I have Grandma Lucy's in the mix. **And the bag no longer comes with the chunks of fish in it** Instead are these rock-hard nasty globs of something that looks and feels like superglue and (maybe) some of the flakes bonded together in a way that is hard to crumble. Honestly it makes me wonder what the stuff is made of, where they are sourcing it, or what the manufacturing process is. I have yet to figure out what to use as a replacement for this, but I can't keep buying it. A fact for which I'm sure my cat will thank me, as I keep trying to foist this on him. … more

    It's a no.

I have seven cats. Not one would eat this. I tried to give some to the neighbor's cat. He wouldn't eat it either. I put it outside for the strays. No go there too. Finally a raccoon came along and ate it. I still have the bag sitting in my cupboard. I hate to just throw it away. I might have to mix up a batch again and put it out for the raccoon so it doesn't go to waste. It looks like instant mashed potatoes with some pieces of meat that are to big to actually re-hydrate unless you add the water about 45 minutes before you actually serve it. I would not recommend this product.

    Cat

Cat won't eat this. I tried every way i could think of to get the cat interested but he refuses. I guess the dog will eat it since there seems to be no way to return product. Twenty three dollars down the drain

    Not exactly what cats need

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Too much of vegetables and too little animal protein. Every time I serve this, 2 pieces of chicken (which are sometimes hard as a rock even after wetting them) fall out of the bag and 5pounds of vegetables in powder do as well...It has a soup like appealing smell which interests my cats, and it forms a paste which I like because it provides them with sufficient water, but after they eat the 2 pieces of chicken and they realize the rest is not "the real deal", there it stays... For this product to be good, I would have to scramble around the bag looking for chicken pieces. Will not buy again.

Sorry - we don't like this food

Maybe Grandma Lucy, being a dog, doesn't understand what us cats like to eat. Good concept, bad presentation.
