    Small bag, but good stuff

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

This food was pretty heavy for freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, so you can imagine how surprised I was to see such a small bag by the time it had arrived. One of the Q&A responses mentioned this bag had 60 cups. But this bag is so small the contents probably couldn't fill a gallon jug, and of course there are only 16 cups to a gallon. I wouldn't even say it makes that much once rehydrated because you only need to mix it to one part water. Either way, Chewy's costumer service was fantastic at helping me sort it out. As far as quality goes, the mix seems good. My dog seems to find it digestible and very palatable. As far as quality goes, the mix seems good. My dog seems to find it digestible and very palatable. I have been giving it alongside raw chicken as my protein source, and apple cider vinegar with Greek yogurt to help address yeast in his gut. It has only been a few days since my sensitive-skinned dog has started the switch (after reacting very poorly to a kibble) but I am noticing a small difference. My dog was scratching himself to the point of bleeding and balding before the switch, he had bad acne and flaky skin. Now, I rarely see him scratch. His scabs haven't had time to heal, but his skin has been restored to a healthy pink instead of an agitated red. He does really enjoy the taste of this food. His poop is a little smaller than it was on kibble, as well as darker, less smelly, and definitely a lot firmer. Overall, I think this would be a fantastic product for dogs suffering with food sensitivities, as you can easily swap out different protein sources to see which one causes the least reaction. … more

    Masie loves it!

My Shih Tzu is allergic to many foods. This mix has no peas, no flaxseed and no salmon oil. I make turkey and butternut squash (frozen at Target) and mix it in with this premix. It works out great for her.

    Good product

    By on

Grandma Lucy makes good products that are easy too use. The packaging looks the same on the premix as does the dehydrated grain free turkey. Seems I ordered the wrong item.

    My picky girls love it!

    By on

I feed my two Morkies Macanna with Pure Formance (Gna Lucy's) and another brand of raw dehydrated along with a good quality canned meat and they are happy girls. One of my girls has grain and chicken allergies and suffered with upset tummy until I changed her food to a mostly raw diet. When I recently added Macanna food, they loved it instantly which I didn't expect as they are both picky eaters.

    Better ingredients than most

    By on

My dogs like this and don't have any negative reactions. Wish first ingredient wasn't pinto beans but nice change up from rice and other heavy grains. Very expensive for what it is and to feed two 60lb dogs with sensitivities. My dogs have reactions to the other dehydrated foods on this sight but not this one. Wish it were less expensive and had an option for a larger bag. Chewy is always excellent to work with.

    Girls Love It

Bad food allergies got me to try this for my beagles and I'm very happy to report they love it. So far so good. Itching has subsided and there were no upset tummies from switching foods instantly.

Great Product for a base food when feeding Raw

    By on

My girl is allergic to so many things so it is hard to find a base food for her to make sure she is getting the right vitamins and such in her raw meals. She loves her raw though so I was thrilled when they came out with this food. She's been eating it about a week now and she seems fine with it. I let her brothers have it a couple of nights too and there were no complaints. I'm thrilled.
