With a name like Grandma Lucy's, you'd expect a company that's family-owned and operated—one that you can trust. And that's exactly what you'll find. Since 1999, the Shook family has created pet foods of the same quality and made from the same healthy ingredients as their own food. Their main taste tester was Lucy, an 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel who had no problem turning down food she didn't like. These recipes have passed the Lucy taste test, so you know your pets are sure to love them just as much.
So these remind me of petrified meatballs. They are hard, but appetizing to my dog. I break them up with a mortar and pestle and mix in the crumbled bits into his kibble. I did write the company to ask about the calorie content. They wrote me back and said they did not have it at this time. I thought that was weird but ok. I do like the simple ingredient list and this makes for a great incentive to spice up boring kibble. I do recommend and probably will purchase again.
My picky westie didn't have a reaction to it, liked it, and it seems to be a good product. I just wish they had the calorie content on the bag and for the life of me do not know why they don't.
