Transition Instructions
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
Solution-based feeding is the focus for all Grandma Lucy’s recipes. Each nutritious freeze-dried formula is made using only wholesome, minimally processed ingredients.
Ingredients with a Purpose
It takes high-quality ingredients to produce high-quality food. That’s why Grandma Lucy’s uses only the highest quality ingredients from trusted suppliers and farms. Pureformance recipes are perfect for all breeds and life stages—feed them as a main meal, topper or as an addition to any homemade treat!
Family Values
Grandma Lucy’s is a company that cares. They care about pets, they care about nutrition, and they care about ingredients. They also care about giving, and they care about getting it all done right.
How Freeze-Drying Works
The freeze-drying process used by Grandma Lucy’s removes 92% of the water in the ingredients, leaving a food that is lightweight, compact, shelf-stable and preservative-free. Compared to other drying processes like dehydration or air drying, freeze-drying is better at retaining the characteristics of raw food. It preserves more flavor and keeps much of the food’s original texture after reconstitution.
95% Whole Muscle and Organ Meats
Lightly braised and paired with nutrient-rich foods like kale, beets and pumpkin, Moxie provides a convenient alternative to raw diets.
High Protein, Low Carbohydrate
Savory Moxie recipes work as excellent standalone meals, or as nutrient-dense toppers that are a great addition to any existing diet.
Award Winning
Minimally processed, protein-rich Chicken and Beef recipes are excellent for active dogs. They are all-natural, grain-free and made with fruits, vegetables, vitamins and minerals.
Quality You Can Trust
Moxie recipes never include by-products, meals, preservatives, added hormones, antibiotics, or feed-grade or animal-grade ingredients.
Muscle & Organ Meats
Only lightly braised, minimally processed whole muscle and organ meats are used, with no meat meals or by-products.

Minimally processed ingredients with added vitamins and minerals make these all-natural recipes naturally nutritious.

About Grandma Lucy’s
Grandma Lucy’s began when founders Breann & Eric Shook started their quest for safe, healthy dog treats. Their 11-year old English Cocker Spaniel, Lucy, had developed food allergies that prevented her from eating most treats, and as they learned what was in pet food, they were surprised at the inferior ingredient quality. After consulting with vets and nutritionists, they started home cooking Lucy’s meals and treats, and what resulted was the basis for the healthy pet foods they make today.
This food uses a gentle freeze-drying process that removes 92% of the water contained in the ingredients. Freeze-drying, as compared to other drying processes such as dehydrating or air drying, is better at retaining the characteristics of the raw food. It is well known that the process retains more flavor components and results in reconstituted textures that most closely resemble the original meats and vegetables.
How much is a scoop?
Answer by • Jun 21, 2022
There are 10 scoops of product in an 8 ounce bag and 30 scoops in a 24 ounce bag. Each scoop is approximately 0.8 ounces.
How many scoops in a bag? Or, put another way, how many days' worth of food for a 14 pound dog?
Answer by • Oct 22, 2021
The 8 ounce bag includes 10 scoops and the 24 ounce bag includes 30 scoops.
This may be good ingredients but hard to tell, mine came in the bag as ground up powder and my two dogs dont like it

good "clean" food
Clean ingredients, not a lot of unnecessary "stuff," seems to be palatable, good food!

Great Topper
This food is, much like other Grandma Lucy's products, stew-like. If you're expecting little nuggets or patties, this is not for you. The beets make everything very red when you stir it all up, so don't be alarmed! My dogs love it and I love the value. I do feel it could be a little bit heavier on the meat, but my dogs don't care. I use this every other day and my dogs definitely get more excited for dinner when they know this is in their bowls.

Ground into inconsistent size from dust to quarter size
So to be fair I was hoping to use this for treats. Most freeze dried food comes in nuggets or patties. This does not. It varies from powder to rock hard chunks of freeze dried chicken.

Lab Loves It
Using this as a topper 3 days a week, alternating with another topper. Be sure to follow the suggested amount as this is a high quality product with chicken livers, gizzards which can give some dogs soft/loose bowel if given too much. Dogs need organ meat and our Lab loves it.
