Grandma's Special Tummy Remedy

Simple Remedy is just what the (doggie) doctor ordered for an upset stomach. It's the traditional recipe for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that's easy to digest and gentle on the stomach. This formula is recommended by veterinarians as something you can feed your pup in place of his regular meal until he's back to normal. The recipe is simple—just boneless, skinless chicken breast meat and plain white rice. Add some water, and it's ready to serve!

Since 1999, the Shook family has created pet foods of the same quality and made from the same healthy ingredients as their own food. Only giving 4 stars because I just started this food and haven’t seen it all the way through yet. My 7y/o yellow lab, Lily, has struggled with allergies since I have adopted her. Unsure whether the allergies were primarily food or environmental or BOTH, she was prescribed steroids and a prescription diet. Since switching her over, I immediately noticed a change in her overall demeanor. She seems to have a lot of energy now, like she feels really, really good. I believe her incessant itching has significantly diminished, her skin seems to be much less reactive and some of her missing fur looks like it is trying to grow back. On her prescription diet she also had a hard time pooping, like as if her stool was just very dry and stiff. Since the new food she seems to be easily passing stool, and the stool is not loose either, it s normally formed. Hoping this food can help to reduce her allergies … more

  • Great quality food!

    By on

I recently transitioned my two dogs to Grandma Lucy’s after an integrative vet suggested it to me. They had been on prescription diet food for approx 2 years. I was never 100% comfortable giving it to them as I didn’t love the ingredient list, however, I feel confident giving this as everything is high quality, nutritious and species appropriate. I have a picky 9 year old yorkie and a 5 year old Aussie, they both love this food. I was also worried it wouldn’t last long since it was a bit on the pricey end (for my budget), but I can tell it’s going to last a long time. So happy with my purchase. Highly recommend

  • FINALLY! A food my finicky, allergic GSD likes!

    By on

I can’t tell you how many foods I have tried for my GSD that has multiple allergies. It is extremely difficult to find a limited ingredient diet that doesn’t have potatoes, peas, alfalfa or salmon. When I do find one, She will eat them for a bit and then turns her nose up and refuses to eat. She has liked this one from the start and so far still does. She is also doing well on it.

  • My dog is worth it!

    By on

I put a tablespoon of Valor, Turkey, with the dry dog food and then a teaspoon of Bone Broth with water. I have seen the dog food industry change over the 32 years of having dogs and I may pay more, but I know that my girl will have a quality life under my watch.

  • Good Product with great ingredients.

    By on

My dog Rosie will eat anything, we call her a chow hound as she is always begging for food. I normally feed her Grandma Lucy's Artisan Grain free food and she loves it but this food she just walks away. I will go back to the Artisan and not buy this again.

  • 1 out of 3

I have three dogs my oldest one is a beagle mix she'll eat anything at any time but my other two ate it and were very gasy. Now they refuse to eat it because it upsets their digestion system. I wish I could return it. The beagle will finish the bag. Going back to Sojo.

  • my doodle is not impressed

    By on

I have tried a few of the Valor foods and usually my 80# doodle will eat anything. But not this. I sent it to some friends who also have doodles, and they liked it one time, then would turn their noses up at this. So 3 of the local doodles do not like this food. Such a shame because now I have several opened bags and will probably give to the shelter. Good for them, but I am out of $$

  • Dogs love it!

    By on

The food ingredients are well balanced. I love the fact that even with traveling I can give my dogs a healthier raw diet. This variety seems to re-hydrate better than others. I am using one of Grandma Lucy's products as a base food, but still mixing in other brands and supplementing with my own to make sure they are eating healthy......new way of thinking!
