Not Alfalfa

This is regarding the Alfalfa 2-pack of 5lb Mini Bales - it’s nice looking fresh hay, but does not look or smell like alfalfa. Looks a lot more like Timothy, and is not what I need for my baby rabbits. Chewy discontinued this product in this size, but did not explain why.

These “mini” bales appear at first to look like normal compressed hay. Unfortunately when broken open, the hay is like so much green, gritty dust with bits of plant material. Completely unusable. Thank you Chewy for the prompt refund.

Fresh, lovely and the bunnies love it. And I really like the way it's packaged. Each bale is in its own closed bag, so you can put one to the side to stay fresh and open the other and break it up and fluff it to fill the whole box--super easy to feed the buns that way. My favorite hay so far. Ordering the Timothy Hay from Grandpa's Best now for the bigger buns because I like it so much. The price is good, too.

Good Hay but Beware

Ordered the two pack as, of course, it is cheaper when you buy more. It came in a cardboard box and even had a sticker on the side showing how to "open" the bag and cut the bale ties and "refasten" the bag. Only problem is, the hay didn't come in any bags. it was two bales, not bagged, laying open i the cardboard box. So, had to find a trash bag to put the bales in so they didn't dry out as i have only one bunny.
