    Heeler goes nuts for food

    By on

My blue heeler mix is kind of picky. She loves eating so she'll eat most foods, sometimes with something sprinkled or drizzled over it. She prefers chicken flavored food and I've never seen her so obsessed with a dry dog food until I served her this GL food. It does tend to make her go to the bathroom #2 in a larger quantity and increased frequency than her last food.

    It what I expected?

    By on

The price was great but there is a lot of “meal” and not real meat. I was surprised since it was supposed to grain free? The dogs will eat it but they like Merrick grain free best!

    Not So Great Anymore

    By on

Our dogs have thrived on GL for years. Only things we fed them. But the last two bags have had a rancid smell, even though they were well within the expiration date. Our eager eater sniffed but still ate (with no ill effect), but our more finicky eater turned up her nose. I chatted with GL thru their website and was assured they had not changed their formula, even though one bag had a sticker saying, "New Formula, $5 Off Coupon." The individual did say their plant was shut down for overhaul and they had not produced food since 11/17. Their product WAS great, but I am going to have to switch.

Im not sure how it taste and my dog can’t talk

    By on

Well, to write a review of a food I don’t eat is a little tough but I was feeding my German Shepherd Royal Canin and he was itching to the point that he had two spot where his fur felt like it was shaved. He seems to be doing better now and he eats the food so i’ll go ahead and give it a positive review. The kibble is small for a large dog but it was the only hypoallergenic food that wasn’t sold out. It’s also a smaller bag so my frequency will go up and hopefully Chewy.com can keep it in stock.

    Kibble has Grainy texture?

    By on

Kibble had a very grainy texture and size too small for my medium sized dog. The granules came out in her stool. She ate the food but was not thrilled with it. I stopped feeding it to her. I would not recommend.

He was allergic to most dog food

    By on

I have a German Shepard that is allergic to most of the things found in dog food. Just to name a few Pea, rice, duck, pork, lamb. His joints where swollen and he would get hot spots. He had no desire to go for a walk and he was depressed. Since starting him on Great Life he is walking out into the yard and wants to chase his Frisbee again.
