They don’t smell while fog is eating it like some do
We have been buying billy sucks in my household regularly for years, so I know quality sticks when I see them. Unfortunately, it gets harder and harder to find. Anyway, I first ordered these at the end of February, when I discovered them listed as a "new item" on Chewy. I liked that they were split sticks, but Il wasn't sure what to expect as far as density, etc. I was very happy when I got them. They were good, hard/solid/dense sticks and were all a decent size. They had that healthy tan color that good sticks have, so of course I planned to buy them again. Well, here we are only two months later, and I just received my second order, and the quality is like night and day. They don't look anything like the first batch. Even the best of the bunch isn't impressive. They have that shiny, red, almost translucent appearance, and are gnarled, for lack of a better description, with some being pitifully thin. It's disappointing and aggravating, and it feels a lot like a bait and switch.
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. My dog really loves the Greater Wild Split Bully sticks. She leads me to where these are stored and looks at the cabinet. These are narrow and hard sticks that she can gnaw on easily. There are solid enough she can work on it for between 30 minutes and an hour. I'm not worried about her hurting her teeth because of the width of the stick. The chewed pieces are very soft and small. She hasn't experienced gum bleeding either. Great quality puzzle treat.
