didn't work for my cat who looooves treats. tried it without the pill and he sniffed it and walked away. tried it with a pill inside, and same thing. was hopeful bc of all the rave reviews on Chewy and Tiktok about the tuna and cheese flavor, but didn't work on my fussy ol guy. chicken didn't work either, sadly.
Our 19-year-old cat, Maggie, started refusing to take her medication in another flavor of Greenies Pill Pockets recently, after years of accepting the old flavor. We quickly tested all the other flavors. Paws down, Maggie's favorite is Tuna & Cheese! We will make sure never to run out. We find this flavor is easiest to mold around Maggie's compounded medication when it has been chilled in the refrigerator. Chilled or room temperature, Maggie eagerly gobbles her pills every time now. Thank you, Greenies!
Thankfully, Pill Pockets take the challenges out of medicating my cats. We have two "special needs" cats that require daily meds and being able to disguise the pills in Pill Pockets turns "Pill Time" into "Treat Time". I am especially grateful for a variety of Pill Pocket Flavors, so I can mix them up and keep the girls interested in eating them!
I bought these because it is difficult to give my cat pills. She now has to take a pill twice a day. I'm so glad I bought them. She really likes them!!! Giving her pills is no longer something to be dreaded.
Pill pockets work great for all my pets, dog & cats, but why Chewy ships them in a box with heavy items, especially a 40 lbs bag of cat litter, turning them into a globby mess of smash goo is beyond me. Oh well, I typically punch off only enough pill pocket to cover the pill anyway; they’re easy to pull apart or combine (to accommodate any size pill) as needed.
My cat needs a pill twice daily, he likes these pill pockets so much he actually looks forward to getting his disguised pill.
We need to give our cat 2 pills a day now and she loves these! Now looks forward to this treat every morning and evening ;)
My 2 bags of pill pockets were packed under 2 8 pound bags of cat food in my last order. Needless to say, they are mostly smashed and no longer have holes for pills.
This feline pill pockets are awesome for my cat. Giving him his blood pressure medicine was almost impossible until I discovered these. Now I just stick the pill in the pocket, close it up and he thinks it just a treat! I’m very thankful that it’s no longer a fight to get him to take his meds.
You have to watch the ingredients in these items. Flavor says tuna and cheese but the first ingredient is chicken. Same for the salmon flavor. I think my cat is allergic to chicken but I don't think the small amount from this has caused any problems. I prefer the Tomlyn Pill Masker because this item is not as moist and the pills will break away from it if you aren't careful. I will still use it, though, because I can make it work and it does the job it is supposed to do. Pieces are a little large for a cat so I end up taking off the excess and throwing it away, even with 3 and 4 pills in it. I done use the little hole in it. I flatten out the whole thing and then wrap the pills.
