    Protein Treat

By KathyD on Oct 4, 2021

I tried these for a change from Mealworms...throw them in my duck pool and watch then go crazy...playing, dunking for bugs. Nice protein treat. The chickens took a little longer to get used to them...like a few minutes.

    California Grubbin!

By AshBee on Jul 4, 2021

I love this company and their product. I have a subscription through Grubbets and the price on Chewy is very good. I haven't bought this through Chewy but if you're on the fence about one grub or another, this one is a great deal! The grubs themselves are pretty firm and not smashed to smithereens like other, more brittle grubs. When feeding to small creatures like baby chicks they might need to be broken up a little first.

Got for Bluebirds, loved by Goldfish

    By Mamafirebird on May 12, 2021 top100Contributor

Added a covered bowl feeder to my deck’s array of bird feeders, specifically to keep our Bluebirds happy. In the tray, I’ve supplied mealworms and peanut butter bluebird nuggets. After learning nesting birds need more calcium than mealworms normally supply, I decided to add some dried soldier fly grubs to the food mix. The feeder attracts Mockingbirds, the Titmice and Chickadees pop in for a bug or two, a Downy Woodpecker comes by, Robins don’t land in the feeder but happily consume the bugs kicked out by other birds, and of course, Bluebirds. Of all these insect eaters, the only ones that seem to like the Grubbets, are my Robins (and the occasional rude squirrel). Since I also have a 75 gal goldfish tank and feed foods with soldier fly larvae as an ingredient, I tossed a few into the tank to see what would happen, and was surprised how fast the fish figured out these were tasty treats! I had to break some of the Grubbets into pieces so the smaller fish could share in the bounty. I would suggest Chewy list these also on their pages with supplies for outdoor pond fish, because they’d be a giant hit with koi and pond sized goldfish! … more

    Coarse and smelly

By Suedoc on Sep 5, 2021

The ducks love them but I found them unpleasant to smell and look at so will not purchase again. Prefer the mealworms
