Does this include the harness used to connect to the restraint?
Answer by ChewyJul 01, 2021
The harness is not included with this seat belt connector.

I am uncertain about hooking it to the seatbelt. So you lock the seatbelt in place and pull it so it locks And velcro this device to the shoulder harness part, not the lap belt part? Then it runs diagonal? Photo looks straight up and down. Clarify please.
Answer by ChewyJul 12, 2020
To use, attach the seat belt connector to your seat belt by opening the Velcro® closure, wrapping the seat belt connector around the seat belt and then pressing the Velcro closure down. Using the nickel-plated swivel clip, attach your dog’s harness to the nickel-plated ring on the seat belt connector. Make any length adjustments necessary using the plastic adjuster on the strap. This can be attached to the lap portion or shoulder part of the seat belt.

Is there a weight limit for this to hold?
Answer by ChewyMar 17, 2022
The Ride Right Seat Belt Connector for Dogs does not have a weight limit; it is made with heavy duty hardware and is intended to work for breeds of all sizes.

Is it crash tested?
Answer by ChewyApr 17, 2020
Guardian Gear Ride Right Seat Belt Connector for Dogs have not been crash tested.

Like this better than the ones that clip into seatbelt clip

I've used the connectors that snap into the seatbelt clip and 2 of my dogs will step on the button and release it. Finding a loose dog in the car when I open the door is disconcerting. Bought one of these to try and really like it so getting another one for the other side.

I like how it attaches easily to his harness.

Super Strong

The Velcro on this thing is extremely strong and tough, it was almost hard for me to pull apart, it definitely couldn't be pulled off by my dog. It fits securely on the seatbelt, and the loop for the leash hooks through for added security. It easily fits to loop on My dog's harness, which has two hooks since it is back connecting, I think it would easily fit most any harness. The provided leash to connect to is nice, and sturdy, and adjusts in length. Its shortest length is just two or three inches longer than I would prefer, depending on how you hook it, a small dog like my Dachshund puppy might be able to get to the floorboard of the car but overall that is just my own personal preference. It would not deter me from buying this product again if a friend needed to drive their dog around and keep them out of the drivers seat.

This works great

after looking at too many seat belts, I decided on this one & glad I did. The velcro wrap with double clip is very well made & secure. The adjustable leash restraint is a life safer. Hooks to leather harness he already has & keeps him in the front, not trying to climb in back seat, and, if he rolls down the window, can just barely stick muzzle out - no risk of jumping or getting debris in his eyes. plenty of room to stand or turn. I wrapped it around the seat part of car belt instead of chest. worked better. My dog weighs 16 lbs. I would say it would safely support much much more

Perfect for safety

Purchased two for both my dogs, one weights 8 lbs. the other 15 lbs., works great with their body harness. Do not add to a collar could potentially choke your animal.

Problem fixed

This thing is a problem solver. In my old truck, the seatbelts are designed differently than modern so the harness clips won’t work. (Good luck finding an old style buckle) Attaching this to the LAP BELT means I can securely harness my best friend in my old truck!

Broke Immediately

Purchased two to keep one in my car and one in my husband's for our dog - broke as we were getting it out of packaging. Was not even pulling or tugging hard AT ALL. Terrible to think something could break so easily thats meant to keep our furry ones safe in the car.

Worked for my needs.

This was great for what I needed. It was easy to install and worked for my needs. It didn't prevent my pup from crossing the center console (even at it's shortest), but it did teach her where her spot in the car was.
