Only Chicken-based food a dedicated fish-eating cat will eat

By Alice on Dec 5, 2018

My cat does not eat chicken full stop. However as I wanted to move him onto senior food and the only choices in wet food Halo offers is chicken or turkey, so I bought a can of each to see if he would even consider eating them. He turned his nose up at the turkey, but after one hesitant taste of the My cat does not eat chicken full stop. I do mix in a little coconut water to loosen the texture up, but he will eat it even if I don't. … more

5 Cats and They Won't Touch This

By Devi on Sep 26, 2018

I have 5 rescue kitties, ages 9 to 15, and not a single one of them will eat this. Actually, they won't eat ANY of the wet Halo brand of food that I bought for them. I even tried to mix it with what is considered a lower brand of cat food, their favorite Friskies Shreds. Mixed really well, they try I have 5 rescue kitties, ages 9 to 15, and not a single one of them will eat this. Actually, they won't eat ANY of the wet Halo brand of food that I bought for them. This has gone on for several days, I even tried to switch back to Friskies and add a tiny bit of the Halo at a time. They all hate it

    By on

This is the first time buying this brand and I really thought this would be a good formula for my senior. When he wouldn't eat it, I tried the other cats, but none of my 3 cats will touch it. I bought 2 cases, this senior formula and another grain-free salmon formula. They won't touch either flavor, even when I've mixed it with their favorite wet foods. So, all I've done is waste their other food also. I've also tried withholding, thinking they'd get hungry enough, but they'd rather go without.

    Halo senior Cat food

    By on

Unfortunately, my Senior cats did not like the chicken and chickpea food. I even mixed with additional water, but no help.

    not for picky cats

    By on

my senior cat is 13 and the other is 5. neither one will eat this food. I put it outside for the stray cats that come around. they will not even eat it. I guess I will donate the rest of these cans to the shelter. maybe some of the cats there will eat this. none of mine will.

All 3 cats won't touch it

    By on

Title says it all. I've tried doctoring it with things they like, and they look at me like I'm trying to poison them. They LOVE the succulent salmon, so it's not the brand (which I've used for several years now), but that flavor is often out of stock. Wonder why... :-)

    Definitely not shredded

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

Zero out of four cats would eat this. I usually get the Nutro Salmon/Chicken minced for seniors, but it continues to be out of stock, so I tried this despite the reviews. My mistake. Don't repeat it.

    Wasn't as described

    By on

I have always bought the shredded food from Halo but they recently changed packaging. I received a case of this expecting this to be the shredded food as described in the description but it was pate. My cats will not touch this food.. I don't know if I was sent the incorrect item or if they have it described improperly.. either way I am stuck with a case of food that my cats will not eat

    Not Shredded False Advertising

    By on

There is no shredded chicken in this can. It is PATE. It's false advertising. I thought they canned the wrong item at first. I'll buy a better brand that has real shredded chicken pieces. Cats will eat but not thrilled with it.

4 out of 4 cats do not like

    By on

I thought with a combo of pate and shredded chicken that all four of my cats would love this food since two like pate and 2 like shredded varieties. Well, none of them liked this particular brand. I tried mixing it with food that they like and they still wouldn't eat it. This is a first for me as I have been buying from Chewy for many many years and have never had to return food. They gladly refunded my purchase price. Love Chewy but Halo cat food? not so much.
