Feeding Instructions

Kitten: Up to 20 weeks old: Feed as much as kitten will eat in 3 to 4 feedings per day.

Transition Instructions
  • Days 1 - 3: 75% non Halo food, 25% Halo

  • Days 4 - 5: 50% non Halo food, 50% Halo

  • Days 6 - 7: 25% non Halo food, 75% Halo

  • Days 8+: 100% Halo

Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

About Halo Wet Cat Food

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Halo is committed to providing no less than the best holistic recipes to satisfy your cat’s carnivorous cravings. Their wet cat food combines pure, natural ingredients like whole meat, poultry and fish plus non-GMO fruits and vegetables for delicious, more digestible meals. Following a whole meat philosophy, Halo never uses animal by-products or meat meals—just the real, whole proteins your cat needs to thrive.

Super Digestibility

Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. As obligate carnivores, cats need meat, not just parts of animals that you wouldn’t consider to be meat. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they’re getting optimum nutrition that’s easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.

What's in Your Cat's Bowl?

With Halo, you won’t see a "meat meal" hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there’s no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here’s what you will find:

Holistic Whole Protein: Salmon, whitefish, chicken or turkey that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.

Non-GMO Produce: Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

Great food, if your cats will eat it

    By on

This is a quality product based on the ingredients. Unfortunately, there is inconsistency between batches. The first case my kittens ate with ease and ate it all. The second and third cases, they will not eat it. The consistency is different - much more "solid" and difficult to mash. Definitely not like the first case. The kittens will eat it if I warm it up and if they are hungry enough, but they definitely do not chose to eat it and a lot is leftover. Will not be re-purchasing unfortunately.

Healed digestive issues, better coat, more energy!

    By on

Our new Bengal kitten came to our home very sick and needed 3 rounds of Rx to get a URI cleared up. The meds gave her diarrhea, so our vet prescribed Hills I/D. The diarrhea, and now gas and oily/spiky looking fur, got severe. Even after coming off the Rx, the digestive issues continued, so I figured out the I/D food was the culprit. It was so bad I considered a raw diet, but couldn't commit. In comes Halo. After researching for many hours, I decided to give this a try and within ONE DAY, our baby was pooping solids. Within 3 days, her coat was beautiful and shiny again. I was so grateful I emailed Halo directly to thank them for a superior product. I was so grateful I emailed Halo directly to thank them for a superior product. Our Russian Blue has been looking peaked after starting the I/D diet, and she's now eating Halo as well, and also starting to look MUCH better. Both of them have energy now, are excited to eat the food, and are in better health after 1 week. It took them a day or two to really get start enjoying a new wet food, but now I will never switch from Halo. It's worth the expense to feed a high quality food that improves my pet's health. (We tried the chicken and fish types, and the fish smells VERY strong, so we are sticking with chicken.) … more

    Kittens gobble this up

    By on

My new Ragdoll kittens are on the Halo dry kitten food as well as their wet food. They love this wet food. The ingredients are wholesome and perfect for their growing bodies. I have done a lot of research on finding the most natural food for them and this is the best.

    My kitten hates it!

    By on

My kiiten's favorite food is fish so I'm not surprised he didn't love it. He was found as a stray and has a voracious appetite. His foster mom said he would eat anything. He'll eat anything but this. He took one bite and ignored it. I fed it to him again later. He sniffed it and walked away. Tried the next morning again, after mot eating all night, he sniffed it and walked away. Obviously, he hates it. Tried the whitefish recipe and he loves that so, maybe a wee bit of tweeking this recipe is in order.

    Kitten Approved

    By on

Our 6-week old kitten, Boo, approves of this food. We started him on Blue Buffalo kitten formula while we waited for the Halo to be delivered and he had very watery poops. Our vet agreed she also doesn't care for BB anymore. He has healthy poops with Halo, though, and he scarfs the food down like he's never going to see it again, so it must be good! We also get Halo adult food (wet and soft) for our 12-year old Salem and she also seems to throw up less. Overall, we're very happy with Halo's products.

    Super nutritious but ...

    By on

My kittens love the Halo dry food but, no matter how I try to spice this (bland) wet food up a little, they just won't eat it. As I've written in a review of a product from another great brand, super healthy cat food doesn't count for much if the cats won't eat it. I'll keep buying the Halo kibble but won't be buying this again.

Quality food, but Kitten hated it

    By on

I wanted my kittens to like this food because it's much better for them than the Friskies that the adoption center sent them home with. But no dice. They just don't like this wet food and barely ate any of it. It's more important for them to eat right now than eat good food, so switched them over to Fancy Feast Kitten. They do love the Halo dry food, so that's a plus!

Great little item at a good price

    By on

Fragrant, easily digested ... and it brings my little ones running. Good as a topper for dry food (mixed with s bit of water or broth) and a very convenient size if you’re traveling somewhere with your pet and want them to have a taste of “home.”
