I wasn't sure if I should buy Halo Chicken and Trout, as they changed the formula. At first, Bob sniffed at it and walked away. Here we go! After the 2nd can, he finally warmed up to it and is now gobbling it up. I highly recommend this and all Halo cat food.

  • Healthy Option

My kitties enjoyed this new flavor to their menu. Halo Vigor provides another excellent option to their daily dinner menu and they liked the texture. Would purchase again.

  • Maybe?

I'm not crazy about Halo, because they're sketchy about who manufactures their food... But both my cats eat this no problem my kitten is a piglet and will eat anything but my 3 yo is very fussy and he eats this (he typically doesn't like pate)

  • Oh dear. Reviews were very promising but....

You know how cats are. My two gave the stink eye to it and me. I give them wet food at night, and as they've gotten pickier and I've been working to give them better quality food, I've been trying different kinds through my autoship. In the morning, the ones that they walk away from will usually end up being 75% consumed. This just sits there like an accident. More donations for the animal shelter.

  • All 3 are enjoying

Almost all my reviews start with "so far so good"... because my finicky cats and dogs get bored after a few weeks and want a change. So with this, it's going well with all 3 and we're on the 2nd week. I think they like the trout flavor, different from the usual tuna or salmon.

Kitties Chow Down Every Morsel, Rarely Leave Any For Later. Not much more to say. Well, there is this: La Senora, came to us less than a year ago, is in her mid-teens, quite set in her ways. Her human passed on, family that took her in has an abundance of doggies. That was not working out for La Senora. We welcomed her into our rescues pride. She really likes grain, did not like most of the wet foods the pride was eating when she first came. Then, she preferred the wet to the kibble (kibble is a no-grain & all sorts of other top notch recipe preferences) - just not most of the recipes we were offering. Finally! Found canned, wet foods she does like. (the challenge has been getting a rotational Kitties Chow Down Every Morsel, Rarely Leave Any For Later. Not much more to say. (the challenge has been getting a rotational food plan that is balanced in amount of chicken, and other bird, fish (and all the exceptions one has to weigh when it comes to selecting food with fish included and/or exclusively). This recipe does have some grain in it. Not one of the allergy prone grains, however. It is a well-balanced recipe. It works well in the rotation cycle. This is a canned food recipe La Senor will eat every time. Always. I am so so so very grateful for that. One of the originating rescues has always had body language revealing an attitude that says: the only food humans should offer is the grain type food and that we kitties should be free to continue catching the real food, too, enjoys Halo's Canned Food that has the grain in it. Both kitties referenced still like the kibble, but not as much as they did. My hunter kitty, I have no doubt, likes the crunch. … more

  • Unique combination of flavors

    By on Top 250 Contributor

This food is a pate that's slightly on the dry side, so I add a bit of water. Both cats love the combination of chicken and trout, and the rest of the recipe ingredients are low carb/starch. There is a grain source (quinoa) but it doesn't seem to upset their stomachs like gluten does. 4 stars instead of 5 but only because I would choose a smaller size can over the 5.5 oz one, if Halo gave me a choice.

  • A Pate My Cats Love

    By on

I am thrilled there is a Pate out there that is in a bigger can other than 3 ounces. 3 ounces is great for 1-2 cats but when you have three you need more. My 3 cats love this, plus its a smooth texture which my cats love. They hate anything chunky especially with vegetables. Great ingredients and its gluten free... Would highly recommend....
