Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

cats don't care for halo senior food

    By on

My cats enjoy the Halo Grain free chicken Healthy weight flavor but don't care for Halo chicken senior version. There's nothing wrong with the product, suppose it's just individual tastes of my cats. They have a huge variety of food to eat, so they get to be picky about their food choices.

    Sasha loves it!

    By on

My cat is almost 14 and has been eating Halo dry cat food for most of her life. On the advice of my vet, I recently switched to a senior formula. Sasha made the switch with no problems. P.S. The commercial is true, her poop doesn't stink, even when she doesn't bury it!

    Cats Would Not Eat It!

    By on

I had heard a lot about Halo products and was looking for a different brand for my three very fussy boys. Unfortunately they would not eat it!!! A bite or nibble here and there but just did not like it! I even tried Halo wet food! They nibbled but did not like it either. I ended up throwing out most of each can that I fed them as well as the bowls of uneaten kibble.

I called and spoke to a gentleman who helped to find a Grain Free Senior food for my Chessie. He was having bowel problems on the food he was on. He is like a kitten again and he is 11 yrs. old. I wish I had some of his energy lol. I highly promote this food.

    MY SENIOR CAT STOPPED VOMITING!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

When anyone is dealing with a 15 yr old Senior cat that has asthma, IBD, CKD & Pancreatitis one lose hope in finding the perfect dry food. My Leo has tried everything from Royal Canin Rx food to Fromms, Go!, Natural Balance, Young Again... etc. He would always vomit. When I heard of Halo using real meat, no by products, No GMO's, Grain Free and senior formula, I just had to try it! I was skeptical at first after reading many reviews stating their cats won't eat it. But after reading the ingredients of moderate protein 30%, low in calories & fat 10% and Phos .80% that convinced me! Best of all my Leo Loves it and eats it up without vomiting!! If it was my utmost choice, I would just do without the kibble but I've tried, he just has to have it or else he'll go on a hunger strike. He also do enjoy he's wet food by Cat's in the kitchen from Weruva. That's the only wet food brand he'll eat. I'm super stoked that I finally found a dry food that he can ingest comfortably without chucking up. Yes I highly recommend for any senior cat! I did transition slowly by first mixing in with he's current dry food. He didn't have any digestive issue or anything. He took to it fine. Try it. … more

    nope, no way

    By on

Trying to give my senior cat a dry food that is better for her aging body, I have tried several new foods. This is the 3rd kind of dry food I have tried and she doesn't like any of them so far, but this one... Not even a little. She refuses to eat it at all.
