About Halo Dry Dog Food

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

When pet parents want to give their pets a holistic food that's made with pure, natural, whole ingredients, they choose Halo. Their recipes use responsibly sourced whole meats and non-GMO vegetables, and never any meat meals, animal by-products or added growth hormones. It's exactly what nature intended—highly digestible ingredients that are slow-cooked in small batches to create dog food with less ash, more bioavailable nutrients

Super Digestibility

Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they're getting optimum nutrition that's easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.

What's in Your Dog's Bowl?

With Halo, you won't see a "meat meal" hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there's no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here's what you will find:

Salmon, chicken, lamb, venison, turkey or beef that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.

Cage-free poultry raised without antibiotics, pasture raised beef from farms that raise animals naturally and wild caught fish from sustainable fisheries.

Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

The Proof Is in the Poop

Because each recipe is made with whole meat, it’s easier for your dog to digest. With Halo, more of the nutrients stay in and go to use inside your dog’s body, so less is likely to come out as waste. Since less is coming out as waste, your dog is utilizing more of the nutrients in Halo dog food.

About Halo

At Halo, the motto, "WHOLE Makes a Whole Lot of Difference" is more than just words. It's the philosophy that drives their holistic approach to ingredient sourcing, recipes, and nutritional value. It's their overall mission to create exceptional food cats and dogs love and pet parents trust. For over 30 years, Halo has insisted on creating only holistic pet foods that rely on whole meat, poultry or fish and never any rendered meat meal. This is the fundamental difference that sets them apart as a premium pet food brand.

What age dog is considered adult
Answer by ChewyApr 14, 2020
A puppy is generally considered an adult when they stop growing taller. Typically for small breeds this is between 9-12 months, medium breeds around 12 months and large breeds closer to 15 months or more. We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine when it is appropriate for your individual pet.

Not what is pictured.

This was delivered but there is no top as the picture shown which is disappointing. Works like any litter box I guess but I was hoping for the top to help with the litter going all over the floor. Might be looking into another one soon.

Complete waste

I was hopeful but my husky lab won’t touch it. So glad I didn’t buy the full size, total waste for us.

great product

I have a very picky mix breed and he LOVES this food. Will eat the whole bowl. We typically mix it with ground beef and the precious foods he would just pick the beef out and leave the kibble. Not with Halo! We also use the puppy version for our new babe and he is thriving. He was a rescue so came to us in bad shape but he is happy, healthy :-)

Formula Change

Looks like the formula has been changed on the dog food like they did with the cat food. My dog has loved this food for years, but the new bag received she won't touch it.

Lovin' this food!

Toby absolutely loves this food. We've noticed a difference in his energy level and his coat. Also noticed a significant difference in firmer and healthier stools. Happy camper all around.

10/10 Ingredients, 0/10 for Goldens

After many weeks of attempting, my golden’s digestive system just would not tolerate this food. This breed is notorious for its sensitive stomach, though, so I don’t fault Halo at all! I wish she would have tolerated it, because it seems to have the perfect recipe. I did want to put this review out as consideration for other golden owners!

Halo dry dog food

My dog eats the adult chicken dry food but he really likes the one for small breeds. He has been eating that one for years.. For some reason, there is no small breed chicken available right now.

My favorite food

I was recently adopted after living on the streets of Georgia, and this food is the best ever! Breakfast and dinner have never tasted so good & my fur has completely changed in the past three months! I’m so healthy and beautiful. Definitely something to bark about.

Halo holistic dry dog food

I am a cencer survivor. I have learned the hard way, that it's the toxins in our food supply that is responsible for our deminished immune system that is a major cause of the rampant increase in cancer. Well, it's no different for our pets. I am happy to have found Halo dog food as it has none of the common toxic ingredients found in most other dry kibble products. I feed my dog mostly fresh organic ingredients but add a half cup of halo to each meal. Brandi, my sweet cattle dog, is eight, looking good and going strong.
