I have 3 rescue pom mixes and dog sit very often for my partner's mom. All 3 small dogs have allergies to poultry. One allergic to lamb & beef, and another allergic to every normal dog food we've tried. My 18 yr old can eat this, Wild Earth, & V Dog with no problems. So its the only food we keep left out in the house. All the dogs love it as a snack & no one has had an allergic reaction.
Trying to find a vegan /vegetarian healthy food for my sweet boy who is a picky eater and loves a ridiculously expensive food I cannot afford so we’re trying this .. so far he’s not a fan and only nibbles here and there but it’s got great ingredients and I’m hoping with time he will start liking one of the ones I bought.. still this is a bargain compared to the 49.00 1lb bag from a Tv stars vegan ranch!
Please please do not feed your dog this! Dogs are meant to have meat in their diet! If you cannot handle that, maybe you should not have a dog. It’s that simple!
Both my 5lb yorkie and my 35lb senior border collie rescue love this food. My senior is having early kidney elevations so we are mixing this food with Hill’s kidney care kibble prescribed by his Dr.
My dog will not eat this food unless I smother it in or add meat to it. This pretty much defeats the purpose since my dog is allergic to animal protein of any kind, including fish, eggs, dairy. We’ve literally tried every kind of food from cricket to kangaroo, and everything is the same. She literally scratches herself to the point of bleeding, and her fur falls out, so don’t have much choice, and she is extremely picky. I had her on Canidae vegan plant based which was lighter in color, and she ate it easily with a bit of applesauce, but they discontinued it for some reason, and she won’t touch this stuff almost to the point of starvation. Not sure why, but there are so few options for vegan dog food. Not wanting to spend $500 per month on my dog’s food, I wanted to like Halo, which is reasonably priced, but it’s just not for us. Sorry.
We had tried another brand and it gave our dog horrible diarrhea so we switched to this brand and immediately the issue cleared up! She loves the taste and her digestive system is thriving! Great quality ingredients make us feel good about what we’re feeding her.
I switched my little chiweenie with occasional digestive issues to this food from the similarly priced, but prescription Royal Canin vegetarian formula. My dog had not been seeming thrilled about his old food, after eating it for five years or so. He's eating this one much more enthusiastically. I love that this food comes in really small kibble, it's much easier for him to chew. So far so good with his digestion, though it's only been a month or so. We'll see if he tolerates it well in the long term.
A great choice for my dog, she loves it and gives her parents (vegan) piece of mind. It has everything needed from a dog food and she enjoys it and thrives.
My older dog had trouble digesting meat and wasn’t feeling well. I switched to Halo and she has recovered and has all her energy back. Excellent food!
Fiona seems to like it more than the other vegetarian options. The bites are small. I wish the price was a little lower but I guess I get it. It's still worth it.
