If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

About Halo Dry Food For Cats
Holistic. Whole. Humane.
When pet parents want to give their pets a holistic food that’s made with pure, natural, whole ingredients, they choose Halo. Their recipes use responsibly sourced whole meats and non-GMO vegetables, and never any meat meals, animal by-products or added growth hormones. It’s exactly what nature intended—highly digestible ingredients that are slow-cooked in small batches to create cat food with less ash, more bioavailable nutr
What’s in Your Cat’s Bowl?
With Halo, you won’t see a “meat meal” hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there’s no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here’s what you will find:
Holistic Whole Protein:
Salmon, whitefish, chicken or turkey that’s slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.
Humanely Sourced:
Cage-free poultry raised without antibiotics, pasture raised beef from farms that raise animals naturally and wild caught fish from sustainable fisheries.
Non-GMO Produce:
Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.
The Proof Is in the Poop
Because each recipe is made with whole meat, it’s easier for your cat to digest. With Halo, more of the nutrients stay in and go to use inside your cat’s body, so less is likely to come out as waste. Since less is coming out as waste, your cat is utilizing more of the nutrients in Halo cat food.

We have served our cats the Salmon/Whitefish formula for about 5 years. They loved it until recently. Around November 2022, something changed in the kibble. It was always a big deal when I opened a new bag of kibble. The cats could not wait to have a nibble. I opened a new bag; expiry was fine, and both cats turned their nose up. They will no longer eat this kibble. Sadly, we typically auto-order 4 bags of 6lb at a time; we also purchase canned Halo same formula. I am back to looking for a new food source. 3 stars because it seems to have quality ingredients.

NO said the cats
My 3 cats have eaten Halo kibble 'Fish Medley' for years and love it. This product has similar ingredients so I thought it might be another option for them. They wholeheartedly rejected it. Nope, nope, nope. Now I see that they have changed the formula for their "fish medley." I hope they don't reject that!

Universal dislike
All 5 cats I take care of were universal in their dislike of this food, smelled and walked away. A couple of them are strays and generally eat anything but nobody cared for it. I noticed filler in the pieces which might be why. Used to have good luck with Halo food not this one.

Not the same food as it used to be
The company has done something with the formula, because all three of my cats used to eat this, now none will eat it. I called Halo and they said they are doing something different with the chicken fat. The shape and texture of the kibble is also different. Very disappointed, as they used to love this. Will not buy it again.

They didn't like this
I've been trying many foods to see what my 2 cats will like. They weren't thrilled with this at all. They have become finicky lately and that's never happened before. So here's another almost full bag going to the shelter. I have found a dry food that they prefer, and that's American Journey Turkey and Chicken Recipe. I put one bowl down of each of these, and they went to the AJ Turkey and Chicken every time. This is great, because it doesn't have as many calories as some other dry foods, and my boy is a chubba-wubba. But still disappointed that they didn't like this Halo. Experiments are now done.

Cat loves the food!
Our cat was eating our dogs Halo salmon and whitefish dry food when he would leave it so we decided to try out the cat food. She was so happy she has been cleaning her dish everyday and she has been leaving his food alone, for the most part. Hard to get a 14 year old cat to accept change easily especially with food but her transition from Canidae indoor was seem less. Her poop odor has even improved.

Not a fussy cat
Refusal to eat never has happened before! Might be the small pellet kibble formula or may be the white fish mixed with her favorite salmon. So sad unwasted 40 dollars on this cat food

Worth the money
I have two cats, older one and a kitten. both prefer Halo food over any store bought garbage. Ive had better clumps of poo, and far less in the litter pan. Both cats have healthier coats, which is important for long hairs especially! Neither one of them each as much as they used to, making the bag of food last longer. Very impressed with this food, and its good for them!

Halo Holistic Wild Salmon Dry Cat Food
My kitty Sadie likes this product and I'm glad I can order from you all. I accidently ordered Halo Holistic wild salmon & whitefish recipe for kittens and she didn't like it at all. I guess she was used to the adult recipe.

Halo foods
Started with the sensitive stomach recipe for my old cat that had cancer because it was good for digestion, the only food she would eat at the time. After she passed we got 2 kittens, started them on the kitten food, now they are on to adult and they have 0 issues, eat it all. The small kibble pieces are nice too. Been feeding this for about 3 years.
