Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

About Halo Wet Cat Food

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Halo is committed to providing no less than the best holistic recipes to satisfy your cat’s carnivorous cravings. Their wet cat food combines pure, natural ingredients like whole meat, poultry and fish plus non-GMO fruits and vegetables for delicious, more digestible meals. Following a whole meat philosophy, Halo never uses animal by-products or meat meals—just the real, whole proteins your cat needs to thrive.

Super Digestibility

Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. As obligate carnivores, cats need meat, not just parts of animals that you wouldn’t consider to be meat. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they’re getting optimum nutrition that’s easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.

What's in Your Cat's Bowl?

With Halo, you won’t see a "meat meal" hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there’s no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here’s what you will find:

Holistic Whole Protein: Salmon, whitefish, chicken or turkey that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.

Non-GMO Produce: Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

    My 6 liked it!

    By on

My 6 cats enjoyed this food. The pate is firm so pickier cats may have an issue with the texture. My 5 boys eat anything. My one little girl can be a bit pickier but she enjoyed this food. I personally don’t mind the firmness. It seems like I get more food with firmer pate’s. Any food with rabbit seems to be way expensive. This isn’t cheap but compared to other brands it’s much more reasonably priced. The company seems to have a good reputation. I feed it to my cats once a week to mix it up and add variety. Will definitely order again and keep it in the rotation as long as the price stays somewhat reasonable.

    FINICKY CAT

    By on

CHEWY.COM IS A BLESSING FOR PET OWNERS. HOWEVER, I CAN'T RECOMMEND SOMETHING MY CAT EATS. SHE LIKES THE 1ST CAN OF WHATEVER I BUY HER THEN SHE TURNS HER NOSE UP AT IT THERE AFTER. SHE DOES THIS FOR ALL WET FOOD. WHY? I HAVE NO CLUE. I DON'T GIVE HER DRY FOOD BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T DRINK WATER. WHY? I HAVE NO CLUE.

    Humanely raised proteins, weirdly firm

    By on

I choose to start buying Halo because I am a vegetarian who doesn't love feeding my cats meat but knows it's essential for their health. I did some research into ethical pet food brands and found that Halo was the most accessable brand that totes certified humanely raised proteins. They do not source proteins from factory farms so the animals are not given unnecessary antibiotics or growth hormones. It is worth the higher price tag for the ethical treatment of animals. I especially like this variety because rabbit is a more sustainable protein, but isn't commonly the main protein in cat foods. Halo has funky standards for the consistency of their food. Their pate food is much, much firmer than most pate foods. The stew varieties are more similar to a traditional pate. I add a little bit of extra water and mix it up with the food to prevent chronic dehydration in my cats. I prefer the "stews" just because they are easier to smash and mix with water. My cats have happily eaten every variety of Halo wet food I have given them, but they are not at all picky. They have never turned down any food I've offered them! … more

    Won’t even taste it

Got 2 flavors. Halo is not a brand for our cats. They are really picky. It looks fine but they won’t eat it. Giving to local humane society.

Mostly chicken - the #1 food allergy for cats

    By on

I recently learned that chicken is the #1 food allergen for cats - yet nearly all foods for cats with sensitive stomach and skin include it. Some, like THIS are nearlyu ALL chicken, even though they only list it in the teeeeeny tiiiiiny lettering in the ingredient label, which is printed tone on tone in addition to the tiny size. Halo is expensive Halo is braggy braggy in it's claims, yet they use the cheapest, poorest quality protein. And the inclusion of chicken shows how little they know about nutrition, especially in cats with sensitivities. Shame on them.

    Not happening!

    By on

One cat wouldn't go near it and the other cat projectile vomited right after trying it. We'll stick with the chicken beef indoor pate.

    Very very dry

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I so wanted my cats to love (or even just like a little bit) this product. My one cat does have a sensitive stomach and I was looking for a different protein source (their favorite is turkey) that was also more prey-based. This should have worked, BUT the texture is very very dry. Neither cat would touch it, even with toppers and gravy. Outside neighbor cat wouldn't touch it either. Still looking for the perfect bunny food.

    Moisture varies

    By on

I bought a few cans to see if Kate would like it and all was good...loved the rabbit and helped with the issues she was having with straight chicken. When I bought the case, this batch seems dry. I’ve had to add water to it and she only kinda likes this batch. I guess it will be hit or miss on moisture content.
