Feeding Instructions

Adult: Feed 3/4 oz per pound of body weight (5-10 lbs) and 2/3 oz per pound of body weight (10-15 lbs) per day, split into two servings.

Transition Instructions
  • Days 1 - 3: 75% non Halo food, 25% Halo

  • Days 4 - 5: 50% non Halo food, 50% Halo

  • Days 6 - 7: 25% non Halo food, 75% Halo

  • Days 8+: 100% Halo

Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

    Excellent cat food

By Rose on Aug 19, 2021

I have 4 cats, one of which a 15 years old Birman. He has a finicky stomach and cannot tolerate some of the foods he use to eat. I did some research and decided to try Halo. Normally I get the turkey and giblets but like to give a little variety. He does very well on this food and really loves it.

    Not Applicable

By Surprise on May 8, 2021

I didn't actually order this item. After placing the order, Chewy advised me the Halo Salmon Pate for kittens which I ordered was not available. Then they sent me this adult cat food for my kittens - I suppose as a replacement but I was not looking to introduce a new food,

    Salmon Pate

By Cindy on Apr 12, 2021

Kitties liked it a lot. Fast delivery. We are all happy campers.Great experience all around. Will be a repeat customer. So much easier than carting all those cans home for our 9 formerly feral furbabies. We are well pleased with this company.

My cats hated it and did not even try it!

By Bernee on Apr 17, 2021

My cats refuse to eat this food, they just look at the cat bowl and walk away. Kind of odd since I had purchased the variety pack of this food before and the salmon is the only one they ate!

    Great Food

By Angie on Feb 2, 2021

My kitty came to me as a foster. I spent so much time and money trying to get her to eat all of her food. When I introduced this food to her it changed her life! She eats it all and now has the energy and personality of a cat. Truly brought her back. It smells like real food compared to the others. Great value reasonably priced!

Humanely raised proteins, but weirdly firm

    By Sarah96 on Jun 10, 2020

I choose to start buying Halo because I am a vegetarian who doesn't love feeding my cats meat but knows it's essential for their health. I did some research into ethical pet food brands and found that Halo was the most accessable brand that totes certified humanely raised proteins. They do not source proteins from factory farms so the animals are not given unnecessary antibiotics or growth hormones. It is worth the higher price tag for the ethical treatment of animals. Halo has funky standards for the consistency of their food. Their pate food is much, much firmer than most pate foods. The stew varieties are more similar to a traditional pate. I add a little bit of extra water and mix it up with the food to prevent chronic dehydration in my cats. I prefer the "stews" just because they are easier to smash and mix with water. My cats have happily eaten every variety of Halo wet food I have given them, but they are not at all picky. They have never turned down any food I've offered them! … more
