Feeding Instructions

For Adult feed about 1 oz per lb of body weight fed per day split into 2 meals. For Kittens feed up to twice the Adult amount to kittens. For Gestation & Lactation feed up to 3 times the normal Adult amount.

Transition Instructions

Guidelines for changing your pet’s current dry or wet food to Halo dry or wet food:

Days 1-3: 75% old food, 25% Halo

Days 4-5: 50% old food, 50% Halo

Days 6-7: 25% old food, 75% Halo

Days 8+: 100% Halo

Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

About Halo Wet Cat Food

America's Best Loved Holistic Brand
Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Holistic. Whole. Humane.

Halo is committed to providing no less than the best holistic recipes to satisfy your cat’s carnivorous cravings. Their wet cat food combines pure, natural ingredients like whole meat, poultry and fish plus non-GMO fruits and vegetables for delicious, more digestible meals. Following a whole meat philosophy, Halo never uses animal by-products or meat meals—just the real, whole proteins your cat needs to thrive.

Superior Digestibility

Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. As obligate carnivores, cats need meat, not just parts of animals that you wouldn’t consider to be meat. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they’re getting optimum nutrition that’s easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.

What's in Your Cat's Bowl?

With Halo, you won’t see a meat meal hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there’s no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here’s what you will find:

Holistic Whole Meat: Salmon, whitefish, chicken or turkey that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.

Non-GMO Produce: Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

  • It isn't the same

    By on

My kitties have been eating Spots Stew for several years, and they loved it. Evidently the formula has changed to a pate and it must be too rich for their tummies. One of them only nibbles around the edge of the dish and the other immediately has an upset stomach :( I cannot find the old 'Spot's Stew' and thought this would be the same but it isn't. Chewy was very good about refunding the cost of the unused cans but I certainly wish we could have our old standby, Spots Stew with lots of veggies back again. Yes, they left a few peas & carrots when they ate but at least they enjoyed their dinner. Please think about returning to the old (& good) formula.

  • Lukewarm Reception

    By on

My one cat won't eat this unless she's desperate, the other three sniff it and eat it under protest. My long-haired cat will only eat half at a time, my male cat only eats it if there's no other choice, and my youngest eats it but not with the enthusiasm she shows towards other foods. I also wasn't expecting this to be so mushy as other wet foods aren't.

  • Cat Loves Halo!

    By on

My cat has been eating canned Halo cat food for a couple of years now and she loves it! What's nice is that they offer a wide selection of food to choose from. Her favorites seems to be the chicken and salmon. I really like that they use natural ingredients and I feel good about feeding her Halo.

  • Not for my cats.

    By on

Bought a can at the grocery store and they loved it! Purchased the variety pack and should have just thrown away my money. Neither cat will eat it unless they are starved and I won't do that to my cats. Has a different label than the grocery store one but should be the same quality. The cans say - Feed it for 14 days - love it or it's free! .... Emailed the manufacturer but no response of course. I do love Chewy.com --- used it for years now and recommend it to everyone. Convenient, reliable, caring and extremely friendly. Hope a chain store does not buy them out - then things will change. Stay as you are Chewy - us pet owners need you!

  • blah according to the cat

Ragdoll won't eat any of the 3 flavors. It appears that she won't even try it as I have not seen evidence of a nibble. Maybe it is the pate' form because she will eat small portions of Instinct minced rabbit recipe.

  • Mine don’t like it

I bought this cat food because it’s supposed to be lower in phosphorus than other brands. But, neither of my 2 cats would eat it. I plan to donate it to a local shelter.

  • expensive but worth it

    By on

This is expensive and not very filling. HOWEVER, for my cat that has to have a low crude protein diet it is top ranking OVER THE COUNTER food you can get. If I have to choose between a prescription diet canned food versus this it's an easy choice. The prescription food she barely touches (bland tasting) and is far more expensive. My vet was very impressed with this food. It is very hard to find pate style canned cat food that is low in crude protein. Mind you I do have to use other supplements because Halo is pretty expensive.

  • What Happened?

    By on

Halo Spot's Stew with the original label was the only thing my cats would eat without just licking off the gravy. I was so happy to finally find something I didn't have to send most of down the toilet. (I appreciate their charitable activity as well.) Unfortunately, the "new label, same formula" just isn't. It's not as moist (and just putting in a bit of water doesn't do it) and doesn't seem to have as many vegetables. I'm trying to find some of the "original label" to compare, but I can't seem to find it other than rarely at high prices. Halo, what did you do? I was depending on you.

  • This is a first!

    By on

All 6 of my cats have been eating this food for SEVERAL months! Typically, they may like 1 or 2 flavors (out of several) that I buy and then eventually stop eating those same flavors!! I am very happy that they continue to eat all flavors in this pack, and thrilled Chewy offers the variety pack!!! I do find they eat around the veggies so I smash them with a fork, before setting the food down. *And I hope I don't jinx things with this review!* ;)

  • Spots Stew is favorite

    By on

I received the "new" formula (white labels) and I must say my cats seem to like it better than the old formula. New formula seems to have less veggies and that is a good thing as all of my cats will try to leave the peas behind. They all love the taste of the pate that is in the stew, which I am glad for as this is such a high quality food. Having three flavors to try out is a plus, but not sure why the variety packs cost more than the single flavor packs.
