Holistic. Whole. Humane.
When pet parents want to give their pets a holistic food that's made with pure, natural, whole ingredients, they choose Halo. Their recipes use responsibly sourced whole meats and non-GMO vegetables, and never any meat meals, animal by-products or added growth hormones. It's exactly what nature intended—highly digestible ingredients that are slow-cooked in small batches to create dog food with less ash, more bioavailable nutrients and delicious flavor.
Proven Superior Digestibility
Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. As obligate carnivores, dogs need meat, not just parts of animals that you wouldn't consider to be meat. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they're getting optimum nutrition that's easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.
What's in Your Dog's Bowl?
With Halo, you won't see a meat meal hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there's no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here's what you will find:
Holistic Whole Meat: Salmon, chicken, lamb, venison, turkey or beef that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.
Originative Protein: Humanely sourced meats like cage-free poultry and wild-caught fish from sustainable fisheries—all raised naturally without antibiotics.
Non-GMO Produce: Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

The Proof Is in the Poop
Because each recipe is made with whole meat, it's easier for your dog to digest. With Halo, more of the nutrients stay in and go to use inside your dog's body, so less is likely to come out as waste. In a digestibility test performed by an independent US laboratory, Halo's kibble came out at the top of the rankings.
DreamCoat for a Shiny Coat
The difference Halo makes isn't just on the inside—it shows through in the coat, too. Their exclusive DreamCoat blend is added to dry food formulas to help keep your dog's skin smooth and coat shiny. This combination of botanicals and other ingredients provides balanced essential fatty acids for ongoing skin and coat support.

Halo says NO to:
- Meat meal (rendered meat)
- Animal by-products
- Added growth hormones
- Corn, wheat, wheat gluten and rice
- Artificial colors, preservatives and flavors
- Compromises and shortcuts
Halo says YES to:
- Whole meat that's responsibly sourced
- Highly digestible whole proteins
- Animals raised as nature intended
- Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals
- Holistic, natural ingredients
- Donating to shelters
- Less ash and more bioavailable nutrition

I have been feeding Tippie Halo Chicken for Small Breed Dry Dog Food forever and she became tired of this flavor although she did eat it if she didn't like the wet food I prepared that feeding. When I ordered her Natures Variety Instinct wet dog food this time I also ordered the Holistic Chicken & Chicken Liver Recipe All Life Stages Small Breed Dry Dog Food and she loves the taste. I love it because it's Holistic and All Natural and doesn't contain any preservatives. My Tippie Simone is a 13 year old Papillon who looks and acts around 8 years of age according to my veterinarian. I only feed her all natural foods and she is groomed every 4 weeks.

I accidentally got the small breed adult for my boys who are adult but need puppy food as they are so active they do not put weight on, they loose it. The kibble is so perfect for small breed and I would definitely tell people to buy this food.

We actually have 6 toy breed dogs, one has colitis and is very sensitive to his diet. We had tried so many other brands with limited ingredients. I mostly cook their food myself, but now I have this and it's been wonderful for them! Even the one with issues loves this food and he hasn't had any allergic reactions! I love that each of my dogs enjoy this food and a couple of them are very picky.

Popeye just turned 16 and is lively as ever. Yes, sometimes he gets up slow but when he wants to wake up his two sisters in the morning and get them barking he can really move.

This is the first dog food we could get my 15 pound Yorkshire Terrier to eat. We tried raw food diets, other holistic foods, and my finicky dog refused to eat any of it. Now, our 10 pound Long haired Chihuahua is on this food, as well as my bichon poodle mix, who weighs 12 pounds. The kibble is small, excellent ingredients. The vet checked the label and agreed it is a good healthy food for dogs. Also makes dogs coat shiny and thick.

Have been feeding Halo to my dogs for years. They love it. But every so often, a bag of it will have little orange, burgundy or green pieces of kibble. Not many, but a few. Not alarmed because obviously they are the carrots, cranberries and parsley. In fact I kinda like it. Not sure if its something that Halo tries every so often or what? I have not called Halo about it.

She loves this food. I am so glad it is made in the USA. You can't beat the great auto shipping. My puppy is always excited when her box comes.

It looks like our pups are going to take to the Halo food you recommended, but the outcome is still in progress. Best of all, we appreciate the customer service that has been working with us to solve these pups' particular appetites but, customer service is what CHEWY is all about. That's why we all keep coming back - Thanks :-)
