Questions & Answers

My cats went from not liking this food to loving and devouring it (turkey flavor) in the last 2 months, so I can only assume something has changed in the formula. I would like to know what is the phosphorus content (dry matter basis) in this new formula. Thank you.
Answer by ChewyFeb 09, 2021
This recipe contains approximately 0.3% Phosphorus on an As-Fed basis (approximately 1.2% Phosphorus on a Dry Matter basis).

Does it contain carrageenan? I don't see it listed, but I had a can from the pet store in which it is listed as an ingredient.
Answer by ChewySep 19, 2019
This recipe does not contain carrageenan. For a complete list of ingredients, click the “Nutritional Info” tab, next to the “Description” tab, just under the product photos.

What is the protein, fat, and calcium contents on a dry matter basis?
Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2021
This recipe has a Protein content of 9.6% as-fed and 45.6% on a dry matter basis, a Fat content of 8.0% as-fed and 37.8% on a dry matter basis, and a Calcium content of 0.3% as-fed and 1.5% on a dry matter basis.

Does this have a high level of sodium or could it cause elevated sodium levels in cats?
Answer by ChewyFeb 20, 2021
The sodium amount in this food is 0.1 As Fed and 0.3 Dry Matter Basis.

What Used to be good

I used to love this brand for my cats until they suddenly did something, either on their recipe or something else, I thought it was only dry food, but sadly it is not, I tried to keep on loving on this brand for my cats, but I can tell their food is not what it used to be before, I really can't keep on risking my cats health, they have thrown up and having trouble doing their business in the litter box, Halo don't really deserve stars as before :( Halo used to be good, now not so more, now trying to get other type of foods for my furry ones. Donated the rest of cans since I don't want to risk my cats health. Bye Bye Halo

Boxes Great, Stickers are Terrible!

Love these boxes, but the manufacturer put huge stickers on the box and lid. They even put one on the inside floor of the box, and since they are impossible to remove cleanly, the litter now sticks to the residue. Very frustrating.

Good ingredients- cats not thrilled

At first my cats seemed to take a liking to this food, but that didn't last long. They refused to eat it, even the stray cats outside left the food. So off to another hunt!

My cats love this

Lots of gravy and soft texture. Was eaten quickly by all my cats. One of their favorites.

My cats' long time favorite!

I've kept Halo wet foods in my rotation for well over a year and my cats are always eager to eat it! This flavor seems to be their favorite. No tummy upsets, healthy stools, and soft coats. It's a good quality food from a trustworthy brand. My only grip would be it's more of a pate than a stew, but that's what my cats prefer anyway. I would recommend giving it a try!

Didn’t like

Cats won’t try it, both stuck their nose up to it. Purchased this and another Halo, they did same thing

Change in Processing

I have been disappointed in the last few batches of Turkey Stew. It doesn't have the smooth texture it used to have and is not ground fine enough. I have found small bones in both the Turkey Stew and Chicken and Beef. Why should I have to put my fingers in the food to look for bones before feeding? I am contacting the company to express my concerns. Unless their processing changes, I don't think I feel good about recommending their food, which I have been feeding my cats for over 18 years.

Turkey stew

Kitties liked it a lot. Fast delivery. We are all happy campers.Great experience all around. Will be a repeat customer. So much easier than carting all those cans home for our 9 formerly feral furbabies. We are well pleased with this company.

Veggie overload

Two of the 3 will eat it...after I go through it will a fork and my finger plucking out the veggies. A LOT of veggies, large pieces of gr. beans and hard peas. 1st time feeding this had one cat vomit the veggies a few hrs. after eating so now I pick them out. Also while poking around w finger there are little hard pieces in it, assume it's bone. Won't be buying this particular one again.
