Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

Kittens love it
By KahanaChameleon on Feb 13, 2021
This is the only kitten pate food I could find without chicken in it. One of my older cats is allergic to chicken and so I don’t bring anything into the house with it. The kittens absolutely love it and are thriving on it. They went from being underweight when I got them (very young) to being right on track for kitten weights 6 weeks later. This isn’t the only thing they eat but they really started to thrive when I got this.

Hallelujah! No chicken!
By MomofBagel on Jan 16, 2021
This is literally the only wet kitten food on the market that has no chicken in it. We just determined with our vet that the kitten we adopted recently has a sensitivity or allergy to chicken. He had a very rough start to life and is extremely undersized for his age, so he really needs a kitten formula to support growth. Because he’s had diarrhea his whole life, our vet highly recommended wet food over dry. I’m so thankful this food is out there. I wish the dry was also chicken-free so we had that option, but I’m glad at least this recipe is out there.

kittens' favorite!

Halo canned kitten food is more expensive than other brands, but our kittens love it! It's their favorite, and they gobble it right up.

5 weeks of tummy troubles—GONE!
By KelleyMM on Oct 19, 2020
We adopted a kitten in mid-September and tried to transition him from the kitten food we were provided from the shelter to a national chain food we used for other pets in the past. The soft/loose and smelly stools we thought would be temporary lasted for 5 weeks. And the gas? Good Lord—how can a 12 week old kitten have gas THAT BAD?! Vet visits led us to bland diets, Rx food—nothing worked. I made a list of all the common ingredients in the foods we tried and that led me down the grain free path. I’ll admit I’m still a bit skeptical of pets needing to be on a grain free diet—but I needed to try. I got a few cans of this to start. We began on Thursday evening and by Sunday I literally cheered We adopted a kitten in mid-September and tried to transition him from the kitten food we were provided from the shelter to a national chain food we used for other pets in the past. Wasted Money
By Cats on Jan 31, 2021
My kittens won’t touch this. It’s so hard because you don’t know if they’ll like it until you buy a case.

Good wet food

My little kitten loves this can food especially the flavor. She eats all the time when we feed her. The seafood smell is very good and strong to attract little ones.

Kitty runs as soon as she hears the can open!

Saved my kitten
By Nadi on Sep 7, 2020
My kitten had diarrhea for days, visited his vet and was prescribed a Hill Science Diet with a pre/probiotic powder. Nothing helped after a couple of weeks until my sister swore by Halo. I had a feeling my kitten was just sensitive to chicken, so I purchased these Halo Whitefish cans, along with their dry food, and they literally saved my kitten. Normal bowels within a couple of days and a much happier kitten overall. Poop less smelly too! So thankful for the recommendation!
