Description

Comfy meets controlled in the Halti Dog Harness. This harness was specially designed to stop curious pups from pulling on their leads by using front control steering from the chest and shoulders. Unlike other anti-pull harnesses, the Halti Harness won’t put painful pressure on the body, so it’s always comfortable for dogs to wear. The harness’ two points of attachment also makes it ideal for using with Halti’s double-ended training lead. One end of the lead can attach to the front ring on the chest to steer while the other end can attach to the back ring at the shoulders to act as a brake.

Size

To get the most accurate size harness for your furry best friend, measure the girth of their chest, just behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a tape measure, you can also use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pup’s chest.

Chest Girth: To make sure you purchase the right size harness for your canine companion, wrap the tape around the widest part of your dog’s torso, right behind the front legs. This is the most important part!

Lower Neck: Harnesses sit lower on the neck than collars, so measure from the lower part of the dog’s neck to make sure it's the right size for your pal.

Great for our 3 legged dog!

    By on

We recently adopted our newest family member who is missing her front right leg. I’ve been looking for a harness that would fit her comfortably and not slip and twist when we take her on walks. She isn’t a huge puller but she does get startled and tries to back out of whatever collar or harness we have her in, and she’s always able to get out of a standard harness. We tried a gentle lead but she was not a fan. This harness has been the best thing I’ve found. She is comfortable in it and with the collar clip and the way it fits across the chest, it keeps her secure. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Love the Halti harness. 4 only because size is large

    By on

I love this harness for my 80 lb prone to pulling boxer. We’ve been using the gentle leader and the Halti head collars with great success but I wanted to try to free up Bennie’s nose. He likes to pick up and carry sticks and other treasures he finds along the way. After reading the size chart, I ordered the large because Bennie’s chest measures 33 inches. The sizing is off on the harness. It’s adjusted to the smallest possible settings and is still loose on his chest. The concept works well though and walking him with it is a pleasure. It’s kind of like steering reigns on a horse. I do have control of him and he can’t pull me. I’m 105 in’s to his 80 so this is important. I think it’s going to be perfect and look forward to many more long walks with Bennie Boxer. … more

    No just no

    By on

Not sure what type of dog this is recommend for but my half yorkie half terrier puppy chewed this off herself in less than 5 min and it fit perfect. Was just like a string. So disappointed. Chewy products are usually so much better.

    Works just as hoped

With a rambunctious GSP, using gentle leaders and other body harnesses just does not prevent my turbo 52lb'r from jerking his 6' 178lb mum here or there. I've also a coupler for when both pups and mum go out together. Before, the GSP would pull the 76lb Belgian Malinois if he wanted to check a package off to the side even while wearing a gentle leader. I put on this harness, though, and my Maligator couldn't be happier. Although I won't be able to take advantage of great arm workouts anymore, it's nice to have a GSP walk calmly with me now. The secret to this harness, though, is attaching it to his collar, too. When I don't do that part, I noticed he'll pull off to the side like before. Once I reattach the clip to his own collar, bam!! cool walker once again. Another nice part, no legs have to lift up, no maneuvering around a pup's body to get it on. This harness couldn't be simpler. BTW, got the large and my 52lb'r can't get smaller or it'd be too big. I've used it on the 76lb Mal after expanding it some and there's still loads of room to expand it more, so this may run a tad large on sizing. … more

    Stops the pulling.

Very pleased with this leash. Helped tremendously with the pulling. I have a 35lb border collie mix and this has been a life saver on our daily walks.

    Trainer’s Opinion

    By on

This harness has worked wonders for medium to large dogs who like to pull. I have found they do not work well if the fit is correct for your dog. I am not a fave of head collars; however, this has been an amazing add to my training tool kit.

    Great product but not durable

    By on

We love the Halti harness for our labs- it’s one of the only harnesses we could find that attaches to their collars which reduces the risk of “slipping a collar” and getting away. In 4 years however we’ve gone through 4 harnesses (2 per dog). The plastic closure weakens and breaks. It pops off when they dogs are not even attached to the leash but just running around. But we do like it so much we keep repurchasing. Just wish it was more durable!

Good Product, but not quite what I expected

    By on

When I ordered this product, I was expecting a little different result with it. In the product description it is said to be an anti-pull harness. In my personal experience so far,it has not really decreased my dog's urge to pull, but I have found it easier tu guide the dog with this harness. I amhoping that using this product along with the training leash and other training aids to accoplish a lighter pull.

Not using it with 2 leads, working ok

    By on

Disclaimer, first off, I'm just using this Halti harness with one lead connecting from the front chest ring. I'm not attaching any lead to the back ring. I like this one ok, but not as much as the Frisco front lead harness I also bought from Chewy. The fit seems a little off with this one, but maybe my puppy will grow into it. She's only 6 months now and 95 lbs. If the fit looks like the picture shown, I'd be more happy.

    I love this harness

I have a rescue dog that has had trouble not pulling on her leash and this harness has helped her learn how to walk nicely along side me ! It has been so wonderful to not have to worry about her pulling me around during our walks.
