This is definitely not strong enough for a large dog, even though the size is correct. It broke only after a few uses when she tugged hard to defend me against a stray dog. This could have been a disaster, had I not been using TWO leases and one attached to her regular collar!! Do NOT use this without a backup collar and leash on a big dog. It will be tricky to handle both, but it can be done.

This is awesome. My dog is a big 125 pound lab who pulls really hard. My son has to walk him because I keep getting hurt. This gentle lead halti is the best. JD didn't like it at first but now he is a lot easier to walk.
Opt for the adjustable one

I think the concept for this head collar is great, however there are some challenges. First, I ordered the medium size recommended for golden retrievers. It’s a little too large for my dog. Second, I would recommend trying the adjustable version. The version I have pulls around my dogs eyes and not his jaw.
Started falling apart

This is an amazing tool for dogs who like to pull. Only problem is it didn’t last. The metal rings rubbed straight through and it’s no longer useful. I’m afraid if I use it again it will break completely and my pup will run free. Disappointed
Tearing after 5 days

I got the Halti in the mail 5 days prior to noticing the main part that pulls his head down was tearing in two. I like how it fits and that the nose strap is thicker than most brands but it will be useless when it rips in two.

Dogs do not like it but once I got them out and walking they did not pull. Will just take some time for them to get use to them. Not an automatic acceptance but I think it’s gonna workgreat once they accept the nose piece.

I was weary of these in the beginning because of the limited material. I have a powerhouse of a dog 136 lbs. It holds her great she has never slipped or broken it. Highly recommend. She has ran to the end of her leash and tugged and it has not let me down or her loose. Lol

I have another collar that is similar ,but this one works better! The other collar she gets out of when I’m not looking. This one for some reason stays on. She seems more comfortable in this one.
Not good for strong pullers

I had high hopes that this would work for my 30lb aussie mix. He gets very excitted when he sees other people or animals on our walks and pulls and barks incessantly wanting to play. Unfortunatly, the cords broke within 10 minutes of our first walk. Since he's a small dog, the cords aren't substantial in thickness. Had it not broken, it would definately have met my needs

I had used a similar knock-off product that my dog quickly learned to evade. The genuine halti is an excellent product as it does not rub my dogs nose, fits her properly, and actually works quite well. I would suggest to anyone looking for a headcollar for your dog to get a name brand product and the Halti is excellent.
