How to Measure: To determine correct carpal splint size, measure from the top of paw at the point located on the backside of the leg to the midpoint between carpal joint and elbow. The Walkin' Carpal Splint will support the wrist or carpus only and does not extend under the foot or paw of the animal. WORKS WELL

I have a 14 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois who is in good health but he abused his body a lot. His pasterns are broken down, his feet are flat and he has arthritis. His left front leg has an old injury and a toe where the tendon was ripped. This has put extra work on his right leg which has much arthritis now. I tried several homemade braces but nothing worked. So I bought this for him for his weak left side. I use a sock under it for padding. He actually seems to accept it and I noticed he can stand better without his legs being both bowed out as his wrist. My only complaint is that the large which according to measurements should have fit him perfectly but it is a bit too large. I don't know for sure if I have it on correctly but it stays on and does not seem to bother him. In fact I think it may be more comfortable. His right wrist would bow in after walking for some time and this has not happened. … more

    Great Splint for Carpal problems

    By on

This was purchased for my 9 year old German Shepard, whose front legs are going bad. Her ligaments from her Carpal down to her foot are stretched. This seems to fit her well and I only use this when I take her for a short walk. This keeps her leg upright. Its very sad to see, but as long as we can go on short walks together this seems to make her happy and I know her ligaments are stable. It does slip a little but were still working with adjustments.

    So small for an XL

Have a Great Pyrenees... was really counting on this to help him walk but it didn’t even come close to fitting. Knew as soon as I looked at it. Way to narrow. Will not fit any dog unless they have small sticks for legs. No bulk or husky dog.
