Description

Help your pal heal with the HandicappedPets Front Leg Dog & Cat Splint. Modeled after human splints, it provides stability for doggy and kitty front legs and paws, with complete support for the foot and toes thanks to its unique design that extends under the paw. It helps stabilize joints for pets with arthritis or injuries, and helps promote healing during physical therapy or while recovering from fractures, sprains, and surgeries. This splint also helps prevent knuckling, or the inability to place paws on the ground, which can occur in pets with neurological conditions or nerve damage. Both sturdy and lightweight, it features a cushioned inner lining to make it ultra-wearable, and is waterproof and easy-to-clean to support wound care. Putting it on your pal is easy―place his paw in the splint with his nails at the edge, and then buckle in place using fuzzy fastener straps. Plus, it’s available in different sizes to accommodate cats and dogs of all breeds.

Key Benefits
  • Provides complete support for pets’ front paws, wrists, and toes with unique design and non-skid pad.
  • Perfect for dogs or cats recovering from fractures, sprains, and surgeries with waterproof material to help keep wounds dry.
  • Great to use during physical therapy or to provide stability for pets with arthritis, carpal tunnel or other joint conditions.
  • Prevents knuckling, dragging or scuffing paws for pets with neurological conditions or nerve damage.
  • Durable plastic exterior and cushioned inner lining that most pets find comfortable for everyday wear.
Precautions

Please keep in mind: Walkin' Front Splints are designed to support the lower part of the legs. They will not stabilize the elbow on the front leg. Please check with your local veterinarian before using the splint on your dog or pet.

Great support for dog with leg injury

    By on

My dog broke a metacarpal bone and the vet splinted it with a spoon splint. The tight splint caused pressure sores and swollen toes so I bought this one to try. It's heavy but can be quickly applied or removed. Our dog only needed to wear it when he went outside. It's sized by length only so it may not fit all pets, especially those with thin legs, but it is shaped to the natural bend of the leg so no more sores or swollen toes. It's a much better splint and way more durable than the one applied by the vet. I gave it 4 stars because it was a little loose for a tall skinny greyhound.

    Heaven sent for puppy

    By on

Heaven sent for puppy. As a special-needs sanctuary we cater to seniors and disabled residents. One of our recent fir-babies had a genetic condition to both of his front legs. After having cast removed his right leg still showed extreme weakness after just a moment of being on it. This brace has given him the support that was much needed and in a weeks time has already strengthen his leg enough to where he can utilize it for 10 minutes at a time . Terrific, well-made product. Cannot recommend highly enough.

    It helps my dog

    By on

I would give it 5 stars if it came with some sort of foam for the back or something to help it stay in place a bit longer. It does work and helps my doggie walk and put a bit of weight on the bad leg. I got the XX-small for my chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. When it is placed correctly, it helps without a doubt, you just have to make sure it is the right size and you may need to use something around the back of leg to make the splint fit correctly and not have it be too loose. And of course, it can't be too tight or you will cut off circulation.

    Great substitute for wrapping

    By on

This product was really helpful. I unfortunately got the wrong size but it made it way easier than having to continually buy wrap and change it every few days. My dog adjusted fine once he got used to it.

    Nice but didnt work

    By on

This is a wonderful splint but didnt work for our needs. Our 80 pound Collie broke his wrist and we were trying to find a splint that would make it easier for him to get around. We used this splint for 2 days and then had to take him back to the emergency vet to be rewrapped with another type of splint. I think this would be a good splint if a fracture wasnt involved and your dog just needed a support.

    Useless/cheaply made

    By on

This “device” in no way fits a dog’s foot/leg. Furthermore it’s design wouldn’t allow for actual walking. Very cheaply made. Would like to send it back but box was already cut up. Do not waste your money. Sorry I was made to submit even one star to submit my review

    Not for a Wiener dog

    By on

Very well made but for my dog who's front legs are so short it was too tall. I ordered the x small. Also there is a non skip pad on the bottom which raises the shoulder up too high for him to walk easily. I gave it 5 stars because nothing is wrong with it - it's my dog that was the problem.

    Great brace!

    By on

Easy to use works great! Make sure to measure! I didnt and the one I get is slightly big for my pup but she is 7 months old. Needed it because she broke her toe and needed a splint. Got this instead and it worked wonderfully!
