The first few nights I adopted my dog, his crate was his safe zone. This fit perfectly in a 42” crate, is very thick, and it’s so soft! (I would know how comfortable it is, because I slept in there with him a couple times while i was trying to help him feel safe in his new home)
Nice and thick

I bought two for my older dogs- 13 and 15.
Both had the best sleep they have had in a while.
They love their new beds. Thick and comfy!
My cats say this is a winner

My two cats seem to spend most of their time on these beds. I can't get over how much they like them. The covers are washable and the top of the cover has a waterproof lining.
My pup loves it

I love this bed. It is better then I expected. It has plenty of room for my Great Dane. It is a great value. Considering buying another one.

This bed was very large. It was advertized as an orthopedic bed, but the bed was not very thick. I gave it to a friend with a large dog. I fear after a few nights the bed will be too thin to provide a comfortable rest for the large dog.
5 stars for comfort, 1 star for cleaning

My 50 pound, 15-year-old dog thought this bed was super comfy... So comfy that he peed on himself while sleeping on it several times. He hasn't found any of his other beds quite this comfortable, which is too bad since they're all washable and/or waterproof. The cover on this bed is washable, but his pee soaked right into the egg-crate-foam padding inside. The padding for the medium size bed is too big to put in the washing machine, so I had it toss it.
It's otherwise a good deal for a comfortable bed for an old dog with arthritis. If you decide to go with this bed, take the cover off and wrap the padding in plastic.
Great dog Bed

I've been reading a review that blames the company for not telling him that the foam inner mattress will absorb odors that you can't get out and you can't wash it or it will come apart and it will never dry completely. That's what happens with very thick foam. Here's a solution that works for all dog mattresses: go to the nearest baby supply store or department and buy a thick waterproof mattress pad(they are all the same). It's the kind you put down on the bed before you change the baby or put between the bottom sheet and the mattress to prevent just what happened in this case, a mattress accident. The pad is thick and rather stiff and placed where the baby would sleep as a protection for the mattress. A baby's diaper leaks, throw up happens, and bottles leak. As far as your dog is concerned, put the waterproof pad between the cover and the foam mattress. If your dog will dig or disturb the mattress pad underneath because dogs will be dogs and this pad is something different, then get string, large size rubber bands or some other stretchy bands and secure the pad in place at the top and bottom. Cut the mattress pad to fit the size of the dog's mattress if needed or just take the extra length and fold it down the sides of the mattress. If you wish, sew the waterproof pad to the top cover. If you have a very large dog and need two of the waterproof mattress pads to fit your mattress, then sew them together or use fabric glue to adhere them to each other to prevent urine from leaking between the pads. This is how you protect the foam pad from things that can't be spot cleaned. Then once a week or whenever you wash the mattress cover and protective pad, take the foam mattress outside in the sun and spray it with odor ban, febreeze fabric spray, or some other odor eliminator you can spray on fabric. Leave it in the sun for hours. Go back, turn it over and repeat. Make sure it's not going to rain that day or your mattress will be ruined. Sun is the best disinfectant. Sometimes I put highly scented dryer sheets between the mattress pad and foam mattress and on the other side too because foam will absorb odors and this I prefer to the smell of urine. If your dog is sensitive to fragrance, then skip this step. Don't put your foam mattress in your dryer to get the odors out. It won't help and will make a smelly mess in your dryer and vent system that will make all your clothes smell horrid. Yes, I tried this once, only once. One last thought: if you put the mattress in your dog's crate like I do then place the crate on a cleanable surface. Excess urine must go somewhere if it's not absorbed by the cover.… more
