I splurged on this very small bag of rabbit jerky for my dog in the hope that he would get his fix and stop hunting them in the backyard. This jerky is extremely hard&crunchy almost like brittle not the soft jerky I expected. The ingredients are pure and simple but the item is much too crunchy. My dog wasn’t sure what this was. Thankfully he didn’t crack a tooth on this.
My 10 year old pup has all sorts of allergies and it is really hard to get great treats with alternative protein. She loves them and I know she doesn't have to have an allergic reaction. Thanks Chewy
Our 2.5 yr old was diagnosed with major allergies - including all proteins except for rabbit. This hard treat is one of her favorites! We are also able to easily break up and give her smaller bites for training. She loves it. And I like the 1 ingredient option which is so important for allergies!
My very fussy Jack Russells love these! I am happy that they are made in America. The price is very high.
The girls love these too, wish I could get them in bigger pieces though for my bigger dog.
My little furball has allergies her vet recommended Rabbit only diet (she said the Rabbit was the tastiest for dogs). Mine loves them! That said, the fish oil, does make her breath smell but is part of her overall Rabbit royal canin dry and wet food diet...so, if you can stand stinky breath, for a healthy allergy-less (if not free) dog....then they meet the Vet's diet orders!
This is great for dogs with allergies and I've yet to find another like it. However, part of my dog's symptoms is a swollen and sore throat from his allergies and these treats are very very hard. They can be easily broken, so think of it more like a thick chip than a soft jerky. I thought they'd be softer than they were though and my dog cannot eat these because their hardness further irritates his throat, even when I break them into small pieces (he's a Dane for reference). Also be prepared for a strong smell. It doesn't bother me, but I know that bothers some people.
Honestly, for the price and ratio of this item, I expected it to be a better than your average product but omg the fish smell is overwhelming! These cannot be rabbit!! I threw them away bc I don’t need my baby getting sick!
I expected these to be a little softer and easier to tear into small pieces but they’re almost crunchy, so they aren’t easy to break off pieces quickly when training. The dogs think they’re tasty, though.
I tried this treat for my dog who has a sensitive stomach. They smell kind of bad so I wasn’t sure if he even would try it. Surprisingly he ate it and really seemed to enjoy it however a short time later he threw it up. If your dog doesn’t have a sensitive tummy I think these would be a enjoyable treat.
