Great for chewers!
Our now 1 year old lab still likes to chew pretty much anything he can find, shoes, toys, socks are his favorite. We bought this in hopes to keep him busy and so far so good!! The only dislike I have is that I find little blue pieces around the house that he chews off.
Mixed enthusiasm over this one
This bone is, I think, a little too thick/wide for my Yorkie puppy. I expect as her mouth gets larger she'll be able to better handle it. Right now, the nubbin bits can't get to her back teeth where she seems to need that texture the most, so she attempts to gnaw the hard bony ends (which have no give) and then abandons it. However, the design is solid, the bone is showing no wear at all, and she does keep reaching for it (then abandoning it) so there's a clear interest.
Small Size Smell not Enticing
I first ordered a larger size since dog is a power chewer. It was too big and he could only try to chew white end. Just gave him smaller size and he pushed it away with nose. Not interested. I smelled it and the bacon smell is very low level. I guess I struck out again.
My dog chews on the dental bone and it keeps him occupied for long periods of time. It is durable and he is unable to break pieces off and swallow. I am disappointed that I didn't get to choose the color.
Good chew toy
We like getting the XLarge size as an outdoor chew toy. Our dogs like to chew on it a bit but really like to play keep away from each other with it. We like the size and color so we can see it in the grass (we can pick it up before mowing). We had the smaller ones but they get too hidden in the grass.
For strong chewers
Although our dog has enjoyed this bone, it is not his favorite. This is my fault, not the bone’s. It may be more suitable for a dog older than 5 months, but it is well made and easy to clean. It is for a strong chewer.
Hartz Chew 'n Clean Tuff Bone X-Large
To give an idea of the size, Roxy is an adult Australian Shepherd and is around 65 pounds. I liked this side bone for her. It was big enough for her to hold steady and gave a good chewing surface. I wish the orange nubs were on the ends, too. Our bone came in orange.
Cute and sturdy toy
I purchased this as he loved chewing on one at my boyfriends house but he tends to ignore the one I purchased him. Great price and he will eventually warm up to it.
Completely came apart when aggressively chewed
My dogs liked these and immediately began chewing but the little colorful bumpy bits came off right away, and then they chewed a big chunk of the white part off. I had to throw it out - did not last long! Disappointed.
This had decent reviews for other people's pups but ours just tried to chew off the little balls. She was very successful and I don't think her teeth were helped in any way.
