I've been using normal human nail clippers with my cats because the last pet clippers I had sucked and I thought they'd all be like that. There are 2 things that make these superior to any other clippers I've used. 1. The nail guard. It keeps me from going too far. If I let my cats claws get out of hand, then I may have to clip the same claw twice, but that's hardly a con imo. 2. The spring back function. I don't have to manually open to go the the next claw. It makes it super easy to go to the next claw. First time using these, and I clipped my cats 10 front claws in about 20 seconds. He only started to get antsy at the last claw.
I got these some time ago but tried to use them today and the cup you put the nail in is upside down which gives you no way to use the clippers at all. Very poor and very disappointed. I wouldn't even give them one star because they can't be used. Waste of the money I don't have to buy again, but I wouldn't buy these again anyway. I really like to buy from Chewy but not something that is absolutely unusable.

ok for me to hold, arthritis, y'know. I like the little lever that helps clip the claw correctly. But, I've used it once, on one claw of my squirmy Stryder. And the newbie is from a hoarding situation, so getting her used to any grooming is a bit if a challenge. It will take her, and me, some time.
These nail clippers have a comfortable grip, and the palm squeeze design allows me to have better control than the scissor handle type. The blade guard, while movable, seems very limiting.
I am very pleased with the nail groomer. It works well and was reasonably priced
I wanted to have a couple extra pairs of trimmers for my cats' nails so I could trim them wherever they had settled down and not have to run upstairs to find a pair. These were on sale so I ordered them, and they're MASSIVE for cats. They're big enough they could just about trim my 80-lb husky mix dog's claws. They'd be good trimmers for small to medium dogs, but get something else for your cat. These things are way too big and difficult to work with trying to trim little cat claws.
I bought these because I have low vision and needed to make sure I don't clip to far back. Clipped 5 nails before the safety guard went sideways. I didn't realize it until my dog yelped. Breaks my heart to hurt her and make her not trust me.
I was always hesitant to trim dog nails but for some reason I'm more comfortable with these trimmers than the older style. I can see just where I want to cut. Our dog still doesn't like the attention but these make it quick and easy.
