Don’t waste your money
I needed a preventive treatment for fleas and ticks. I had used collars in the past and wanted to go that route again for economic reasons. I decided to try this collar by Hartz. What a mistake!! After wearing the collar for a couple days, Dory began acting like she was going crazy. Her one eye was swollen so badly she could hardly open it and she couldn’t hold still and was scratching her body in one place or another continually. I removed the collar, washed her face with a washcloth. I also gave her a small dose of Benadryl and she started to slowly improve. She was back to normal by the next day. When we were going out for a short walk, I slipped the collar on to test my theory. After about 15 minutes her eyes were watering and beginning to swell. So no more collars!!! I’m retired and on a very tight budget so this has been a costly mistake and I’m stuck with 2 collars I wouldn’t put on my worst enemy.
Nice material!
I have a large breed dog, greyhound, and she has a long neck and can’t stand having a lot of anything pulling or putting pressure on her neck. These collars are very light weight and have a softer type texture to them, not like other comparable products that are a harder type material. These collars are somewhat movable and appear to be more comfortable. I can tell by her mannerisms that she is just fine wearing this collar in addition to her pretty big martingale collar. She normally will try to get anything off, especially clothes and collars. The fact that she is tolerating this collar makes me pretty happy! The collar was very easy to put on and anyone with larger breeds can feel confident that it will be big enough, there was plenty of extra at the end after I put it on my dog. It does appear to have an almost powdery substance, but I think it kinda adds to the nice feel of the material. The only thing I would change is to have more color options!
Tick Defender
I received the Hartz Ultra Guard Promax Flea and Tick Collar for free to test with my German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix. The collar itself is a rubber/stretchy zip tie like collar. This provides a comfortable fit while guaranteeing the product wont fall off. I wasnt able to smell any scent from the collar itself either. Since putting this on my pooch she has been flea free. We do live in a wilderness area in the Midwest so the ticks are thick out here. She did get ticks on her when on a walk but the ticks started to drop off and die. I would recommend that people who have a dog at least try this out once as it can be so hard to find something that works.
Flea/tick protection
I have an active little chihuahua that I take on walks and to the park. So of course I need a flea/tick collar for protecting her. I wouldn't want my furbaby to get bitten by anything. So I am happy to use this Hartz Ultra Guard Pro Max Flea and Tick Collar! These are made especially for dogs,not to be used on cats! Protection Worth Purchasing
My dog is a member of the family. He needs the best protection while outdoors. This collar provides that. Hartz products are amazing, affordable, and work great. Trusted manufacturer. Works as described!!
I love this flea and tick collar! It works exactly as described and it is so much easier to use vs putting the gel or other products i have used! We have gone out camping with their collars on and ticks and fleas can get super bad out on the land. This collar protected them perfectly not single one had any fleas o ticks and they had no issues with the collar. My one pup loves running into the pond on our land and not only did the collar stay on because of the dual buckle system it also worked still being wet! I also feel soo good that it provided them 6 months of full body protection. Overall i would highly recommend!
Works great
I have been a fan of Hartz for years. I have two dogs that I use the Hartz UltraGuard ProMax Flea and Tick Collar on. It works great. I never have to worry about fleas& ticks, as it repels (mosquitoes) plus prevents flea eggs from hatching. It fits my pets perfectly with its soft design collar. The collar also has a dual buckle that keeps it securely fastened. Also is definitely worth the money ProMax in the tin can comes with two collars which 6-month of protecting my fur babies for up to 12 months of consecutive protection. I highly recommend,

I love that this Hartz UltraGuard ProMAX flea and tick collar is adjustable and waterproof. I feel that my pup is 100% protected with this. There isnt a stinky smell and it is easy to adjust and buckle. I think ticks are going to be very prevalent in my area this year, as I've already found 2 crawling on my pups just from a single walk thru some woods where the weeds are still low. I'll definitely be purchasing more of these for my other dogs.
Easy to use protection
I tried Hartz UltraGuard ProMAX Flea & Tick Collar as part of a free sampling program. I have tried others in the past and been unimpressed, either because they easily broke or stopped working, but I did not experience any issues with Hartz! The collar was so simple to snap on, and it stays in place even with my active dog. He doesn’t even seem to realize he is wearing it. No fleas or ticks, even after long days playing in the grass outside. I like that this is a simple and effective method to protect my dogs, and it lasts a long time.
Great Product......
Great protection. It comes with two collars one for 6 months of protection and the other for another 6 months. My dog will be free from fleas and ticks all year round. Very easy to put on as well. I've purchased products from hartz in the past so I wasn't surprised as to how good the quality was. They carry a variety of products that my family and I can trust. I've recommended there products to some of my colleagues and they feel the same as well. Definitely worth trying...
