Description

Tell uninvited to guests to “bug off” with the Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Cats. A convenient alternative to topical flea applications, this collar starts working fast to kill and repel fleas and ticks. It also prevents flea eggs from hatching, which stops the flea cycle by preventing re-infestation. And as an added bonus, the breakaway design easily comes off in the event your cat gets caught on something, so you never have to worry about him choking or getting trapped. The best part? It works for seven long months, even if it gets wet, so you can go worry-free for more than half a year.

Key Benefits
  • Water-resistant flea and tick collar is an easy alternative to traditional topical flea treatments.
  • Works for an impressive 7 months to effectively kill and repel fleas and ticks.
  • Also prevents flea eggs from hatching to stop the flea life cycle and prevent re-infestation.
  • Breakaway design will come apart if your cat gets caught on something.
  • Adjustable design can be cut to fit your cat’s neck, and it features a clean, fresh scent.

How it works

The collar will begin to kill fleas, ticks and flea eggs and larvae immediately. Its full protection against harder to kill ticks will be built up within a few days after being placed on the pet. For continuous flea and tick protection under normal conditions replace the collar every seven months. Under conditions where pets are exposed to severe flea and tick infestations, it may be necessary to replace the collar more frequently. Wetting will not impair the collar's effectiveness or the pet's protection. If the pet goes swimming or is out in the rain it is not necessary to remove the collar. The collar may be worn with a regular collar.

  • Way too cheaply made

I ordered one for each of my two cats. The first one I opened immediately broke as I took the staple out of it it and unraveled it. I have no idea why they come inverted and stapled together and don't understand why that would be helpful when trying to put on a cat and have it stay there. Well it's especially impossible when the "breakaway" collar breaks right off right out of the package. The one that wasn't broken was quite difficult to adjust when I put it on the cat who was sleeping... So much so that she woke up and wiggled out of my clutches and the collar. I have used collars on them before - the Seresto collar does actually work and didn't make my cats squint and run away when I opened I ordered one for each of my two cats. I am guessing whatever is on these is fairly toxic to everyone. Can't imagine I can get my money back so I'm leaving them out near the bed in hopes that the toxic chemicals will at least ward off any fleas that might be in the vicinity … more

  • DOESN'T WORK!

    By on

After using various Harts products I thought maybe if I paid more for a collar it would work. Well I put it on my cat and waited to see if it will work for her. Well it's been 2 weeks and after checking her I found she still itches and she has bites marks all up her back! She has never had bites that far up her back. Also, I had never had problems with fleas being in any apartment I lived in. Now a friend of mine was sitting on a chair and a flea jumped on him. I won't be recommending any Hartz products at all. It's just a waste of money.

  • Did nothing

    By on

Bought for my indoor cat. I bathed him first to get rid of as many fleas before I put on the collar. The collar did nothing to help him. The next day he was just as full with fleas as he was the day before. This collar does not work. At all. Period. Do not waste your money

  • This Product is Awful!

    By on

I wouldn't even give this one star but you have to choose something. Honestly, this has got to be the worst product of any kind that I have ever ordered from anywhere! The breakaway clasp was just awful. It's a piece of junk that we threw right into the trash! Chewy.com, your reputation is much better than this, pull this product from your inventory!!!

  • It works for about a week

    By on

My cats are indoor cats so I am sure the collars didn't get wet, etc. The collars work for about a week. After that, the fleas start coming back.

  • Flea help!

    By on

For years Advantage worked for my seven cats, just the last year it stopped working-even the new Advantage from the vet.It would sort of work for about 2 weeks. For the price I needed it to work for a month like it said it would. So I tried Frontline because it was made of a different chemical, that only worked for a couple of weeks.I kept spending the money every month hoping for a different result. So now I'm trying these flea collars,if they work longer than 2 weeks I will be happy.BTW Adams spray for cats is realy good,I spray the whole house and it kills everything!Ants,Spiders, fleas, and its safe for the kittys to be around.
