This digital thermometer is comprised of two basic components: the sensor and the display. Simply attach the display unit to the outside of the tank using the suction cups and submerge the probe into the water in the tank for accurate, up-to-the-minute readings within 0.1 degree. Was going to get 2 of these but after reading the reading the reviews I think I will look at a little more expensive one to see if that makes a difference. Sounds like to me that they buy these from a couple of different vendors and one of them has either junk they picked up cheap or some sounded like they had been used and sent back and they just shipped them right back out like they were. Chewy needs to look in to this no matter what the price of the product to help overall sales.

Ok this was very easy to set up. The battery was a little small but super easy to put together. Had one week so far good. I love the small suction cups to attach to the tank.

NO BATTERY

This little thermometer may be fantastic, but I wouldn’t know because it came with NO BATTERY. Seriously? Who has these specific batteries lying around? Not me. So aggravated.

A great way to double check

My fish tank heater gets way too hot even though I put it on the correct temperature. I use this to accurately double check the temp of the water so I don't potentially fry my fish lol. I have much more peace of mind now!

Waste of money

This heater does not work. First mine never came with batteries, I had to run out and purchase some after I received the thermometer. Second the numbers just flash random things when the probe is in the water. It bounces from Lo, -35, -45, 82, 56, Lo. I have to constantly take the battery out and turn the unit back on again. This was a waste of my $10.00!!

Durable for active tank occupants

We purchased this originally for a tank with an Oscar because we were afraid the fish would break a typical glass thermometer. We now also use one in our turtle tank. It’s good because you can replace the battery. Readout clearly visible

Battery doesn't last

It worked, but battery didn't last. It was also hard to find a replacement, because many stores were out of stock on this type of battery.
