  • Lots of grain

    By on

My girls were no too thrilled with this product. It looked good to me, but... They like it when I throw grains to them but I find that they are picking out the pellets and leaving the grain behind in the feeder. Not sure why. I think I'll stick to layer pellets next time.

  • Chickens won't touch it

    By on

I'm new to raising chickens and trying different things. This was not a hit, and when I mixed it with Scratch, they pick out the seeds and leave this over. I have three hens and so far, not one egg.

  • My birds love this food!

    By on

I am always skeptical buying my chickens new feed as they love to turn up their beaks at anything new. Even more so, this feed is a pellet feed, not crumbles which my chickens have been raised on all their lives. However I was quite surprised at their curiosity about this feed and found that half of them converted fairly well to the pellets pretty quick. BUT, there were still a few hold outs. I am fortunate to have a grain grinder in my coop, so I ground it down to crumble sized bites. Well that did the trick! My birds love this stuff and I just placed another order for more Henny Penny!

  • Chickens dont care for it too much

    By on

The pieces seem too big for the girls so they just eat around it and go for the scratch food that i add to the layer blend. Needs to be smaller granules.

  • Great product

    By on

Are chickens haven't been laying for a couple of months. We have tried different foods and shell powder and nothing seemed to work. When I saw chewy had layer feed that I could order and have shipped to the house I was Ultra excited to not have to make a trip to the co-op. Not only was this a wonderful perk but our girls have started laying again! We will definitely continue to buy this product.

  • chicken feed

    By on

Good food mix, chickens are eating it. I place it in a 7# hanging feeder along side the regular food. The hens are eating both.

  • My chooks wouldn't eat

    By on

My chickens wouldn't eat this feed. Could be because they are bantams. They seem to like crumbles better than pellets.

  • Not what I expected.

This is pellet food, and I was thinking it is crumble. My chickens will not eat it.
