chickens love it

My chickens love this stuff! I see reviews talking of colored pellets or artificial colors. There’s no pellets or artificial colors. Those are lentils. Lentils come in a variety of colors, green, red, orange, shades of purple on some red varieties. My chickens don’t care for the lentils and leave them behind. I’m not happy with the excessive price increase. I have 30 birds and an almost doubled increase means I can’t buy this often anymore. I bought it as a special treat before the increase now I’ll have to buy it even less often. My chickens really do love this scratch grain blend more so than any other blend I’ve bought. I’ll add this is a treat. NOT a primary feed source. All grains labeled as scratch is a treat.

My girls know the difference between this and your average TSC scratch. They go Gaga for this!!! The price jump is harsh but I'm glad I stocked up before that happened. I'll still buy it but may mix it with cheaper scratch so they still get their favorite and make it last a bit longer

Top 1000 Contibutor

it's ok....

I guess my chickens are picky. This mix has a lot of wheat which they don't care for apparently. It also has a lot of little red, green and orange pellets that they leave behind, even the wild birds don't want the pellets and I'm not a fan of all the artifical colors. So a lot of this doesn't get eaten. Henny Penny also makes a "treat" blend which doesn't have all of that so I'll go back to that.

Wow! What a price Jump!

Well.... my chickens love this stuff...BUT I will no longer be buying this product due to the ENORMOUS price increase! From $9 and some change, all the way to $17+?! I would pay that for 25lbs, but not 15lbs when it has quite a bit of corn in it. Too bad. Save your money. You can buy separate grain and mix together yourself for same price, or less, with better ingredients.

What’s up?

My chicken loves this scratch but what’s up with the 10.00 price increase? Looks like I’ll have to find something else that she will love.

More than a scratch

This scratch has the benefit of added oyster shell and many vitamins and minerals. My chickens LOVE this scratch. The downside to this scratch is it contains artificial color and flavor. Not good and disappointing. Hence 3 stars and not 5.

Inflation for the birds

Holy Cluck! 7$ price increase on a 10$ bag of scratch. Switching brands quickly so I don’t have to sell the rest of my chickens to feed just 1. Ridiculous!

Hens love it

My hens are so excited to eat it! They’re in need of the extra calories in our sub zero temps, they’re even still laying!
