  • THIS COLLAR IS AMAZING!

    By on

WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE HOW FANTASTIC THIS COLLAR IS!!! I have two dogs that are so strong that I was truly afraid they were going to pull my arms out of socket or I was going to break a hip. Every day I walked them, I would hear "who is walking who!?" From the moment I used the collars, they looked as though they went through training. I cried in happiness. I was also shocked to see that they never even winced of any type of pain at all. That was the reason I did not try them in the first place, They now have more fun on the long walks that we take because they are actually looking ahead instead of sniffing the ground and pulling me all over. Also, I now have to use my muscles when walking up these steep WV hills. And we are no longer going 100 miles and hour. This is by far the BEST item I have EVER purchased for my dogs! LOVE is not a strong enough word for these collars! And now all the people who used to have so much fun watching me get pulled all over the place are going to have to find other means of amusement! :) … more

  • Turned my dog reactive

This is a high quality collar and of the prong collars its known to be the best. If you are unfamiliar with the collar, it comes with these prong pieces that interlink and you can remove the sections to customize the size, much like a watch band. Be aware the prongs can loosen over time. The idea behind this collar is it "mimics" the bite of another dog correcting them while collapsing in a way that prevents it from digging far into the neck and pinches the skin instead. It also disperses the pressure some, so there is less stress on the trachea. If you have no control of your dog physically (you are outweighed by a dog stronger than you) or if your animal is truly aggressive then this may be This is a high quality collar and of the prong collars its known to be the best. If you have no control of your dog physically (you are outweighed by a dog stronger than you) or if your animal is truly aggressive then this may be helpful in restraining them. I think prong collars work best on more secure and neurotic working breeds like german shepherds. I was introduced to this prong collar through a trainer when I adopted my dog. I tried this for 4 months, it was bad. In the end, I think a front-pull harness is better for reactive dogs. Surprising but true. Actually, the prong collar did work instantly and like magic BUT only for 3 beautiful days and then he was a Cujo monster with fear aggression for anything outside. Be aware if your dog is sensitive/nervous/reactive, this collar can also backfire big time and increase anxiety, fear, and aggression. Instead of the dog thinking "pulling to get to that person is bad, I get corrected when I pull" they can associate "I feel pain when I see that person, that person is bad". I've seen a lot of user error with these at the dog parks and it's a tool that is best used with the guidance of an experienced dog trainer to help with timing and corrections. Take it off in the car, don't ever tie or tether a dog wearing this, and use it only during short training periods. … more

  • Amazing collar!

    By on

This collar works like a charm. We recently rescued a 9 month old hound mix and while she's great in many aspects, leash pulling and reactivity is definitely a fall back for her. We tried the no-pull harness, but that only worked when she was tired enough to not want to pull. Going on hikes was a challenge. We started using this collar and after a few short walks, she turned into a different dog. She's walking by our side now, and there is definitely less reactivity, however we still have to work on that. Best training tool on the market hands down. Don't listen to the nay-sayers. When you use this collar appropriately, you are using a lot less force on your pulling dog than anything else.

  • authentic, great price!

Thank goodness for Chewy having these authentic Herm Sprenger collars at an affordable price! I made the mistake of trying to purchase a herm sprenger off of another website and what I received was a cheap knock off that was such horrible quality I would never put it on my dog. These Collars from chewy were the great quality of herm sprenger that I am used to at a very affordable price. I am very happy with this purchase.

    By on

I just want to say OH MY GOGH!! This leach is the best thing I have EVER Purchased for her. She is a 90lb 11month Pitbull Mix and I really began to Hate our 2x Daily walks! She played with every stick, piece of trash, Butterfly and Squirrl we encountered and not to mentioned pull me to play with every Dog in the neighborhood. My arms and BACK have seen better days. I used this collar one time and she began to correct herself. No more pulling and jerking my arm out of socket. THANKS 4 EVERYTHING!!!

  • Great Product

    By on

This is a great product recommended by my trainer. the first one lasted 13 years and got rusty over time - swimming in salt water didn't help when I'd forget to remove it (you are supposed to only use it while dog on leash). I bought this for my 2nd dog. It looks far worse than it really is - puts pressure evenly around dog's neck instead of chocking him. It works! no pulling on the leash with this around his neck.

  • Stupid design

    By on

My dog is extremely energetic which is why I wanted to try this collar. But attaching the links into one another on him when he is excited for a walk is a nightmare. They needed to add some sort of easy to close clasp. Instead they made it very difficult to put on an excited dog (which is who this apparently is created for).

  • Great collar

    By on

I have a 92lb GSD and he would always pull on his regular choker collar and choke the heck out of himself to be in front when we walked. This collar really helped with his pulling, and now he stays next to me. I don't jerk it or pull, if he starts pulling he feels the pressure and comes back to my side. I'm teaching him heel with this by giving him a small treat whenever he heels and comes back. It's been working great. It is very easy to remove the prongs to adjust the size, I did have to YouTube how to remove the prongs because this collar doesn't come with directions. Overall I would highly recommend this collar to anyone with a large breed dog who pulls, hope this was helpful:)

  • Works Like a Charm!

I was desperate on finding a solution to help my dog learn to walk on a leash well without pulling my 54-yr. old arm out of it's socket. She's a smart dog but has hound in her; the scent of the trail is too much for her. I was leery of this product but watched a few videos by canine trainers recommending it. I tried the collar on myself, and it only pinches, no pokes or prods. (It's also referred to as a Pinch collar). IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES, THE DOG WAS WALKING LIKE A CHAMPION!!! You don't need to do anything but a gentle flick of the wrist to correct the dog and most of the time the dog self-corrects. I highly recommend this for leash training when puppy is old enough to understand commands I was desperate on finding a solution to help my dog learn to walk on a leash well without pulling my 54-yr. old arm out of it's socket. • Instantaneous results!

    By on

Love this collar. My dog used to pull so hard when he saw squirrels or birds. The first time he had this on he tried pulling once and immediately stopped. He still pulls occasionally when caught off guard by a small animal but as soon as he feels the prongs, the pulling stops. Really great strategy for taking your dog to public places/events!!
