I've used a lot of different styles of enclosure over the years, and I have to say this one is really nice for terrestrial tarantulas. The acrylic is crystal clear, there are plenty of ventilation holes, the lid shuts firmly with magnets, and the whole thing with substrate, hide and dish still WAY lighter than a glass enclosure of the same size. You could always use a plastic tub, but this enclosure is great for displaying your animal and looks very clean. 100% would buy again.
Perfect size for my tarantula, hopefully I can find a larger size once it has outgrown the enclosure. Nice sturdy accessible acrylic lid and amazing design with perfectly aligned ventilated holes
My tarantula is close to outgrowing all my enclosures from another company, so I searched for ones similar, these are perfect! Nice clear acrylic, a good size, easy access lid. I'm excited to put my T in this after her next molt! I do wish they sold this size just with more height, but aside from that this is a great size for an amazing price!
I've been using this now for a couple months and while I really like the aesthetics and the utility of the magnetic lid, there are some problems with the lid design. The tracks are a bit loose so this causes the lid to scratch quite a lot and it has been getting worse over time. I use this terrarium for a tarantula and the looseness of the lid can also cause the entire cage to jolt when opening and closing it. I'll continue to use it for now, but it disturbs the spider quite a lot if I am not extremely careful to support the lid completely as it slides in and out.
It came in a very reasonable amount of time, and the quality is better than I anticipated! Love the magnetic closure of the lid and the sliding mechanism. I turned it into a lil fairy wonderland for my tarantula :)
I bought two of these terrariums, one for each of my current isopod cultures. One was perfect straight out of the box, but it seemed like someone literally "cut corners" while assembling the second - the standard protective film that comes attached to acrylic sheets was not fully removed from the floor panel, so one bottom corner did not join to the walls correctly. Very easy to DIY, though it's annoying to have to fix something you paid nearly fifty bucks for. Otherwise, I do love these. They look awesome stacked, and they've been easy to work with in terms of regulating humidity for the pods. Just recommend giving each terrarium a thorough check before use.
As I purchased a young tarantula, this terrarium is working out well for the time being but as my tarantula matures, I will need to invest in something bigger. It is very secure and was shipped to me well packed and arriving a couple days late.
When it got here I was really happy with the size and the amount of air flow that is has on the sides. What I wasn't impressed with is that there was one missing magnet to begin with and when I opened the top another magnet flew off because it wasn't properly glued in. If the animal I have wasn't just the size of a quarter (Very small scorpion) I would have been pretty peeved because anything else might have been able to push the top if it tried hard enough with the amount of magnets left. It was packaged nicely, so I do give them that. Just wished it didn't come half done.
We personally house adult Tarantulas in these and its perfect! def recommended
I keep isopods and have many of these enclosures. They are incredible for small critters and I really enjoy the sliding lid for easy access. We did get one recently that had 2 large gaps in the bottom corners on parallel sides. So be sure to give them a solid check over before setting up.
