The cats have mats!! They hate to be brushed when I reach the mat!! This tool is perfect and the mat was removed without stressing out the cat!!

This works on tiny little baby mats as they’re first forming, but if you have an actual mat already this isn’t going to do the job! That said, everyone with a furbaby whose coat is able to develop mats needs to have one of these, and brush their baby all over with it at least once a day to prevent the inevitable tiny mats from becoming big full-sized ones! For reference, I have a 3.4 lb Maltese with a medium length haircut.

Not the ultimate solution, but it works pretty well on my "mat prone" doodle cross dog and Maine coon cat. Both are intolerant of brushing and this is good at getting out the loose hair.

Get the teeth under the mat—then use a back and forth fast movement as if you were a lady “teasing” her hair with a comb—mats come right out!!

I have a little shorthaired girl kitty that gets mats where she can’t reach to clean. I can’t figure out how to make this tool work and she is now very mad at me. I was hoping this would be easier and safer than sneaking up on her with scissors, but looks like I’m going to have to get sneaky with the scissors. The mat just slips straight through this tool and if I try to make it catch the mat apparently hurts kitty a lot.

Very disappointing. Purchased as it was like one I got from a different brand and it doesn't work at all.

This works well really catching the loose hair and mats. The old cat doesn't like to be combed, but I just use this for a couple of sweeps across her and do a little every day.
