In other words: An expensive way to absolutely thrill your (four legged) kid for a short time. The fuzzy tail gets chased and batted until teeth sever the puny thread that it attaches with and then has to be thrown away as a swallowing hazard. The bug itself is not as well made as the original ones I have bought and often tips over on its own, but the cats Still LOVE it. Needs to be played with supervision for detachment and swallowing hazard as well as it is small enough to go under irretrievable crannies where it will continue to "buzz" until the batteries wear out.
My tuxedo cat loves to play with this toy - it is like training for his favorite activity of bug hunting! My senior cat has been wary of the toy, but in watching the other cat play, worked up the confidence to come check out the new toy. It makes a bit of noise on a hard floor but that doesn't seem to deter my cats. Hopefully the battery will hold up well (or be replaced easily), as I expect we'll get a lot of use out of this toy!
This is our second hexbug toy; we have to keep track of it because sometimes it wanders under the stove or behind the refrigerator, but it amuses the kitten for hours at a time. Thankfully the batteries are replaceable! It doesn’t always right itself and it travels a in a bit of a circular pattern. It engages the kitten with its roach like maneuvering and is frequently tossed about in the air with glee. Even the 12 year old cat looks on with interest.
My cat loves this toy and will bat it around. It's a great option for when I am struggling to keep him engaged because he doesn't seem to want to play a lot of the time?? But he also wants attention?? This toy keeps him busy :) I recommend keeping an eye on your cat while they play with this toy, though, because it really is the size of a large (tbf) bug and is a choking hazard.
Very cool robot design idea, we love to see our kitty playing with the robot insect. She likes games with him until off. The only thing I have a hard time is finding it and getting it out of small places where it gets stuck. The battery runs out but magically recharges a bit and works ragain. Difficult to find these types of batteries, just order them by Azn
My cat LOVED this toy. Unfortunately she was playing with it today and the bottom busted open and the button battery fell out. I’m so glad I was watching her and I was able to stop her as she started to run over to the battery to eat it. It’s a super fun toy, but unfortunately we won’t be repurchasing due to the risk of the battery popping out again. If you cat loves this toy like mine does, please always keep a close eye on them when they are playing with it!!
My cats are very entertained by it. It’s a little loud if it gets stuck somewhere, and it can easily get lost under the stove or other places so I try to keep it contained in a corner of the room. I will probably get a second one, hopefully they send me a color other than green though because that purple one is cute (:
It ran great, for only a few minutes. The battery it came with died. I don't know if the toy uses them up super fast, or if the battery was bad..it uses a button battery. If it uses them up that quickly..this is going to end up being a ridiculously expensive toy. As I stated, I'm disappointed in this purchase.
I purchased 2 for my home and 1 for my daughter's cats. My almost 1 year old (9-5) will see it on a counter they are allowed on and retrieve it. He and his brother will play together for 30 minutes of so. It really holds their attention. Even when I think they are done and go to put it up, they surprise me and attack again carrying their catch around. Good toy.
I bought 2 because it thought they were so cool. Not very sturdy or well made I'm not sure which one. What I do know is they were falling into pieces within a bit over a week. I know cats can be a bit rough but for that price I expected more.
